If I was a hitter against Kimbrel, I wouldn't step into the box.

Subbing in Brock Holt with Benintendi on the bench... One of the absolute dumbest managerial moves ive ever seen.

I really don't like hating people on my own team but Craig is getting there

Kimbrel is going to give us some heartbreaking losses in the postseason. Even if there were another option to close, they wouldn't use it because he's a closer.

Of course, the only reason the SF occurred is because he swung at ball 4 twice to keep the bat in his hands.
The chic definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting (hoping for??) different results. Right now Kimbrel is making this organization look insane. At the VERY least, I think they should have given him tonight off and used him an inning tomorrow night if they felt he needed another turn on the mound before the playoffs begin.
As I've said before, the only two options the Sox have though is either keeping him as the closer or keeping him off the playoff roster, because if he were demoted from the closer role he'd surely implode, since that isn't in his job description.

I feel like I was one of the few happy to get Kimbrel but I'm done with this dude. He's so unwilling to throw inside the zone like he's some junk baller instead of throwing 96+.

It was fun having an elite bullpen While it lasted. Now we can see that those four weeks were an aberration.
Kimbrell should not be the closer in the postseason. Can't have a closer with control issues in the playoffs.

The issue was taking Ortiz out of the game in the fifth inning and pinch hitting Brock Holt instead one of your best hitters with home field on the line. This one is on Farrell.

I don't know if he's unwilling. Incapable may be more like it. His pitch scatterplot on the pitch tracker looks like something I'd get if I threw darts blindfolded with my thumb taped to my index finger.

Things falling apart at the wrong time. Congrats on winning the East, but that's the only celebrating this team will do this year.

Reset for Sunday (assuming SEA comes back to win; a SEA loss would eliminate them):
TEX has clinched top seed. BOS has the tiebreaker over CLE for the #2 seed but is 0.5 game back entering Sunday. A BOS win and a CLE loss on Sunday will set BOS as the #2 seed vs. CLE. A CLE win and a BOS loss on Sunday will set CLE as the #2 seed vs. BOS. Otherwise, the seeding will not be finalized until Monday.
BAL(@ MFY) and TOR(@ BOS) are tied for the wild card spots and control their playoff destinies. If both win on Sunday, TOR will host BAL on Tuesday in the WC game, with the winner to play TEX in the ALDS. If one or both lose, SEA(vs. OAK) and/or DET(@ ATL) can jump into a potential tiebreaker scenario.
SUN: CLE@KC (Tomlin), TOR@BOS (Price) MON: CLE@DET (TBD, only if affects playoff spot or seeding)
ALDS begins Thursday. Projected rotations for BOS/CLE:
G1 (THU): Bauer vs. Porcello G2 (FRI): Kluber vs. Price G3 (SUN): Tomlin vs. Buchholz/Rodriguez G4 (MON): Bauer vs. Rodriguez/Buchholz G5 (WED): Kluber vs. Porcello

Thanks Kimbrel for screwing things up at the end.
First you gave the Red Sox the worst clincher in baseball history because you couldn't throw any strikes in a 3-0 game.
Now they're going to lose the home field advantage against the already disadvantaged Indians because you have to walk the leadoff hitter and throw a wild pitch.
I'm getting very tired of his act. The walks drive me absolutely bonkers.
I expect that at some point I'll be thanking Kimbrel for relieving the Red Sox of their season.
At this point I kind of feel more comfortable with Koji and his 86 MPH fastball closing with Ziegler in the 8th inning.
If Kimbrel was anything close to the guy I thought we were getting I had no major issue with the trade they made, but he's been so aggravating - to the point I can't stand watching him. It's like watching Healthcliff Slocumb all over again or Mark Clear before him.
There is nothing worse than a closer who can't throw strikes!
And for a long time, this guy was among the best in the game. His control was never exactly Koji-esqe, but he was never THIS bad before. I hope Bannister can fix him - AND QUICKLY!

That run may not have even scored if you had your actual left fielder in the game instead of your utility infielder. Explain to me the logic behind pinch hitting Holt over Benintendi for Young with 2 on and no outs. Thanks.
