I agree with cv. If he is hitting 250 range he probably is getting a lot of time behind the plate. If blake is healthy, wow what a problem to have. I agree, I think that Leon was playing his career moment and will revert back to prior years. Then what do you do with him? I think the goal and hope would be for the sox that cv hits enough and Blake is healthy. The two sharing catcher and Blake does some dh. NOT TRADE either one.

Blake is too athletic to play DH and he doesn't hit enough to play there either way.

Blake is too athletic to play DH and he doesn't hit enough to play there either way. On days off from catching he would/could be an extra bat at dh. He is going to CATCH. Ortiz certainly was not very athletic. It looks like Blake will be a pretty decent mlb hitter. We will see over the next 4 months how things go.

Does Pablo hit and play decent defense? Is Leon a hitter or does he revert back to his usual 200 and little power? Does moreland hit enough to keep hanley at dh? Does beni continue to hit at a good rate? Who gets the 4 or 5 spots in the rotation? How many bp arms do they keep and who?

I wonder if the sox keep abad, especially if he has a so so training camp. The likely opening day bullpen, even assuming health, includes Abad. He'd have to completely forget how to pitch in order to get cut. The marginal upgrade if he's pitching poorly from Abad to the likes of Robby Scott - and that's even assuming it's an upgrade for the sake of argument) - wouldn't be worth depleting depth. Unless someone's hurt, you're looking at Kimbrel, Thornburg, Kelly, Ross, Barnes, Abad, Hembree.

And actually, pitchers and catchers reported. Let's close this and make a new one, shall we?
