Good story with reshaping of Breslow. After Mon. workout, Indians, Jays, Dodgers, Rockies, Mets, Cubs, Twins, Reds all in on him (cont.)

Breslow workout opened eyes. Changed delivery has changed conversation. Emerged as legit backup plan to Boone, Blevins in FA market

There's a fair chance that De Leon could be better than Forsythe this year. Of course Longoria is upset that his friend got traded - that's natural human behavior. As for the Rays, they could certainly move one more arm. By the way, I completely missed that Brad Miller hit 30 home runs last year. It was kind of a crazy year for home runs. Jedd Gyorko also hit 30 bombs. Brian Dozier hitting 42 is out of control. Rougned Odor hit 33....

Not a conspiracy theorist typically, but the sudden, dramatic and sustained uptick in HRs after the ASB in 2015 really points to this being the case. As for Odor, he's exciting and is young enough to improve, but he's basically the Trumbo of second base right now. He needs to stop swinging at everything and maybe change his positioning to help he defense at 2B which was very bad.

Greg Holland to the Rockies.
Why in the world would he go to Colorado to rebuild his value? Makes no sense.

There isn't a pitcher alive that wants to go to Colorado so I'm guessing they made the best offer. Kind of surprised he didn't get more though. Also, Colorado still has no idea what they're doing.

Well for anyone that wants to feel better about the Wade Miley for Carson Smith trade, Jonathan Aro was DFA'D from the Mariners today.
The only thing that the Mariners to show from that trade is Ariel Miranda, who looks like another version of Roenis Elias. Pretty funny when you think about that.
I think Dombrowski won this deal by a landslide. Maybe that's just me though.

Seriously though, 10 is a lot. You have to go back to 2008 to see 11 in Baseball America's Top 100's and that includes 1B/of Chris Marrero and most of those guys were closer to 30 than 1. Last year there were 7. These things tend to trend even if you were to account for repeats. Recently, we've had years where shortstops dominated the rankings but a lot those guys have graduated.

The fallout to the Cardinals hacking scandal is about to come. They don't have a first round pick in the draft this year. It'll be interesting to see what MLB choses to do when it comes to punishing the Cardinals this year.

It'll be interesting to see what MLB choses to do when it comes to punishing the Cardinals this year. Based on what has come out with the scout going to jail, etc. This is infinitely worse than anything we have seen before. I expect a borderline crippling penalty. Houston should also be receiving compensation. My feeling is it should be a heavy fine to St Louis, plus a couple high picks (including at least one first) sent to the Astros and they should lose something on the international side as well.

I sincerely doubt the Astros will be compensated, based on precedent. Other than undoing a trade, I can't recall the "victim" club ever receiving something when another team is being punished for misconduct. I could be forgetting something though.

I'm sure you are right but when has another team be blatantly stolen from?

Best of luck to former PawSox Pitcher Roman Mendez, who has just agreed to terms with the Hanshin Tigers of the Central League in Japan.
(Once traded with Angel Beltre for Greg Gagne with a spoon)

(Once traded with Angel Beltre for Greg Gagne with a spoon) Hm. This had been reported in November, FWIW. And Mendez was actually traded with Chris McGuiness, cash, and PTBNL Michael Thomas for Jarrod Saltalamacchia on 7/31/10 the first time around. The Eric Gagne trade was actually David Murphy, Kason Gabbard, and Engel Beltre on 7/31/07 (if those players had been traded for a shortstop who'd retired 10 years prior, that would've been pretty bad!). Anyway, I always remember the Mendez deal because the Rangers scout had stayed in Greenville an extra day to see him on Chris Mellen's suggestion, then when that trade went down on Mellen's wedding day (Mike was there and with him), the scout told him he suggested Mendez based on seeing him in that look.
