I think Kelly will walk this run in.

I don't know much, but I do know Farrell isn't the one walking guys. He brought in a middle relief pitcher with a one run lead then left him in there to walk a second batter. i am sorry, what are you talking about? Hembree had 2k's and then the bullpen **** the bed, with 4 walks. That is not on him.

Throws 99 mph, and goes with back to back breaking balls with game tied in 8th, full count, and bases loaded.
Interesting.

So glad Kimbrel can rest easily without facing the heart of the lineup... or any of the lineup.

Now that he blew the game he'll just hammer a few 98 mph fastballs down the plate no problem. This dude is spineless.

Not really sure why power pitchers are pitching like finesse pitchers. They act like they are facing the 27 Yankees. Also not sure why Vasquez is collecting splinters.

It's kinda weird seeing a Dombrowski team with a shaky bullpen.

Bringing Kimbrel in to face Upton is one of the easier decisions a manager will ever have to make.

Did just enough to lose, there. Impressive.

For the folks who wanted Kimbrel, as I did. You do realize that Ausmus made the same move to his closer and it backfired, right?

As bad as Kelly was, Hembree blew that inning. 2 tough K's, then turns around and walks 2 in a row. He was cruisin' and lost it.

btw, by walking four guys, guaranteed that the top of their order comes up in bottom of the 9th should Sox tie this.

I like the strategy here. Pitching around McCann and Jones to face Iglesias.

I can't wait until the Joe Kelly era ends in Boston.

The game was most likely going to be won or lost in that situation in the 8th. You have to go with your best reliever in the most pivotal moment of the game.

And now the game sits on the broad shoulders of young Mitch Moreland, a shrewd pick-up by dave Dombrowski in the off-season because they already had purchased a bag of mulch.
EDIT: Wow - that was my first of those the year.

You're arguing based on outcomes, not the quality of the decision. and you have proof, of course, it would have worked. I wish i was you guys and could just blame Farrell, but the players were set up to do their jobs. They deserve the blame.
