The mariners are obsessed with our old friends
Buttrey to the Mariners on a minor league deal
Didn’t he punch a sprinkler and break his hand while in the system?

There's a terrific episode of "trafficked" about ghost guns on Nat Geo, that I suggest is worth a view if this story peaks your interest.

Heath Hembree signs a minor league deal with the Mariners. They have collected a number of ex-Red Sox relievers.

Jimy Williams passed away First manager I can remember as a kid, RIP Jimy Wow, the first manager I remember was Darrell Johnson, and his 1975 World Series team nearly winning against the Reds. They took a 3-0 lead in game seven, but could not close it out. Wow, 2025 will be 50 years since that season. I hope the MLB committee finally realizes what a great player Dwight Evans was and finally elects him to the HOF while he is still alive and able to accept the award in person!

Second the Dewy Evans nomination. First manager I remember is "Pinky" Higgins although I had been taken to a few games in earlier years by my grandfather the only name I remember is Ted Williams and that may be only in the general miasma of age (I was born in 1947 so I'm lucky if I remember what, or if, I had for breakfast).

Elect Luis and Dewey!

"Ghost guns" aren't as cool as they sound, fyi. If you go by official numbers you'd be far short in determining the number of guns in the USA. This isn't recent, I remember mid eighties, the night shift of a major aerospace company covertly making all the components for ak-47's and advertising them in Penny Savers. You only needed to make a stock and assemble them. There is (or at least was) nothing illegal about selling parts.

You guys must be from the renters generation. I had to look ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Boston_Red_Sox_managers ) but first I remember is Rudy York. I also remember Pinky Higgins but more likely from his second tenure. Agree about Dewey and El Tiante

Gregory Santos to Seattle.
Seattle is going for an all Red Sox draftee / alumni bullpen.
Mauricio Llovera Eduard Bazardo Gregory Santos Gave Speier Heath Hembree Ty Buttrey
Others Michael Chavis Luis Urias
Seattle is in competition with SD and the Dodgers for who has the most former Red Sox (and Red Sox farm hands) on the west coast.

Having trouble linking to it but the most recent Poscast with Joe Posnanski and Michael Schur is with Dave Roberts, and it starts with a pretty great first-person oral history of The Steal.
