It's 2-0 so the margin is razor thin. He had experimental injections in the off-season starts the year on the DL it's his first start of the season usually only workhorse start right off at 100 most first starts are capped at 90. Risk verse reward, it was simply not worth it. You want him to feel good get the win and build off it. Instead he tarnished the start to a point and put the game in jeopardy. It's not liked I stated it after the fact. I'm not saying you did. I just disagree that a bloop hit tarnished anything. Not a big deal, but I don't think it was wise. Maybe if he had even 1 start under his belt I'd understand it more but there is about 5 solid reasons not to and only one reason to do so.

Nice to get some fortuitous hits for a change along with the solid ones. Good inning by Barnes coming up...

I'm glad the manager of my fantasy team didn't listen to my Pomeranz rant I made earlier

Matt Barnes continues to impress. I'm not used to that. Very nice.

Barnes looks like he's made the next step to a good set up pitcher. By season's end we could have a filthy filthy bullpen but for now it's our achilles heal.

Basically everyone except Moreland, Leon and Vazquez is hitting much worse right now than they will be the rest of the season. Should be more 5+ run games coming up.

I'm glad the manager of my fantasy team didn't listen to my Pomeranz rant I made earlier Lol. He did well. Some hard hit balls but he controlled the game when he had to. I'd love to be wrong about him and see him have a 2013 Lackey-like season. Good first step, either way.

Showalters face wasnt that red earlier in the game! He's getting flu-like symptoms but he won't admit it.

I havn't been on the board much lately to much going on. But honestly injuries aside what is the weakest part of the team. The bullpen is at the moment BUT when Carson Smith and Thornburg return if they are even close to their recent form then our bullpen becomes a weapon. If Price comes back healthy then the Staff could have quality and quantity unmatched in the AL. The offense kicked ass last year outscoring the closest comp. by a wide margin so while Ortiz will be missed it needs to be put in context, and by that we should be 1 2 or 3 in runs score in the AL again. If healthy where are we weak?

Vazquez should buy a powerball ticket after the game.

A lot of luck, obviously, but man this catching tandem is silly at this point.

If healthy where are we weak? If pen and starters are healthy there are still big questions in offense. Sandoval bounce back year is NOT guaranteed and no appreciable current third base depth. Moreland is a platoon 1st baseman coming off a down year. While early returns are nice, it will be interesting to see where he's at Aug 1. Benintendi's first full year in the majors not guaranteed a success. He's been making comtact but teams will adjust to him. Bradley when he's hot is practically Mickey Mantle, but when he's cold he's barely Mickey Doolin. And then we saw Sandy Leon do a slow fade laster year as the season went on. Meanwhile, Vazquez has no history of offensive prowess. So, yeah, the offense would make me nervous until proven otherwise, even if your other two caveats hold.

A lot of luck, obviously, but man this catching tandem is silly at this point. Considering Swihart, 3 major trade deadline playing cards. . . . Hope Pomeranz arm feels good tomorrow, love his high spin rate fastball.

Kudos to the skipper for his game management. Liked the decision to have Pommy, who was lights out in his first start, to start the seventh since it was against a tough lefty, Davis. He got on with a softly hit single and ultimately scored, but John turned the rest of the game over to the bullpen.
