Lackey and Hendricks haven't been super sharp in April. Glass half full says it's a good chance for the Red Sox to get back on track. Glass half empty is that it's a good chance for Lackey and Hendricks to do that.
Lineup issues aside, a three day stretch of Severino-Tanaka-Arrieta is pretty brutal.

I am trying to remember if this is the first time Lackey has been back (too lazy to research). Hopefully we can get out of this funk. One thing for sure, Big Papi ain't coming through that door, so the guys need to relax and put some good swings at pitches in the zone.

Is that Joe Kelly on the mound for the Cubs?

Be nice to get out of this slump tonight and it looks like the Sox are well on their way.

Watched Arrieta's last game and it started just like this before he settled down. He just doesn't look like the same pitcher.
Add: Man, if Vazquez gets an inkling you'll try to pitch him outside, he pulls out the pool cue and sends it off to the side pocket.

If it wasnt for Bogey who knows what the score would be right now.

Arrieta is probably settling in with a quick inning here.
Pomeranz's velocity is down from his first start. It'll probably make him more homerun prone (just like with what we saw with the Kris Bryant at bat) but he can probably stay effective enough to toss his usual 6 innings.
Edit- Right on cue another homerun.

Does he really think nobody can hit his belt high 91 mph or something?

Pomeranz should probably stay away from the top of the strike zone as much as possible. I mean, he has to go their to get strikeouts from time to time but probably should avoid it unless he has 2 strikes.

And the Red Sox are back to their old ways. Kind of like te Orioles game when they got 4 or 5 on Gausman in the 1st.

I really like Marco Hernandez in a platoon situation at third base for this team.
Team must cringe trying to get past Benintendi and Betts with runners on base.

That's about as bad as a squander gets. Embarrassing.

Can't get caught stolen there. Just really really bad things all around.
And as much as I love Benintendi, he 100% can't let a pitch go right down the middle with the bases loaded. Sorry.
