Pedro do you know that? Or is that just your opinion? At this point it's been a full year from his injury. Has his D got better recently? Without more information I would worry, hence why I'm not trading a lot for him right now. We are closing in on a third of a season worth of data.
Were there reports about Travis having issues with D this offseason because of his ACL injury last year? Not that it would really matter. An ACL injury is a bigger issue for a 3b than 1b. Typically an ACL is 100% healed and a guy can be 100% in a full year if the injury wasn't bad. Thing is not everyone is the same.

You have to give up what you are willing to afford to go get the potential upgrade. Again, if you're that worried about the injury and something actually does pop up when reviewing the medicals (and doing the physical), you can still nix the deal or renegotiate afterwards.

RE: the Moustakas has "bad D" comment -- he's a perfectly fine defender at third base. 10+ DRS, +28 UZR in his career, but this year he's at -5 DRS and +0.1 UZR. Still such a SSS that I wouldn't make much of it compared to his career numbers. And besides Deven Marrero, it's better defense than you're gonna see from our other 3B options (Pablo and Rutledge).

PSA - defensive stats take 2 years to stabilize, thus they are pretty much meaningless to use in partial seasons.

We had this debate last year with Shaw, it takes two years to find out in general what type of defender a player is overall. It sure doesn't take two years to see how his D is now. I just remember last year everyone telling me no way Shaw is above average at 3b, it won't last the numbers are useless. We'll they weren't useless and he was above average at least for one year. Overall I agree he's been a good defender for his career. Thing is he's coming off an ACL injury and putting up the worst defensive numbers of his career. That worries me and is something to watch. If it improves I wouldn't worry, but if you get to July and he has -10 DRS I would. It's certainly not crazy to think an ACL injury could affect his D for a year, as he might not be 100%.

Are you guys still looking at trading for moose? Yanks might be in the mix, now that torres is out for the year. Now what do we trade for this guy that would intice the royals? dave still seems locked in on the salary cap number. Do you give away your money this early? Maybe an injury causes you to need the money somewhere else? With no backup, ss and 2nd look shakey right now. Dave says no more prospects in trades. Committed to rebuilding the farm.

I think he's a mainstay of their team having an outlier season: they aren't moving him IMO. I would expect KC could stay in contact in the Central. Boras client would prob cost a P and a prospect (like Chavis).
So many things in flux. Health questions with Hanley, ERod, BHolt who knows right now? I'd keep an eye on both Abreu and Frazier as FA WSox.
