“@ianmbrowne: Pedroia flying back to Boston to get wrist examined, will see doctor at 830 am tomorrow.” “ evandrellich: Dustin Pedroia going back to Boston for MRI. Has an 830 am appointment. Whether or not he goes to DL unclear for now. Wrist swollen, tender” “@peteabe: Dustin Pedroia being sent back to Boston for tests on his wrist. He’s had swelling. Certainly doesn’t sound good.”

Yes, even with the best possible result that could be expected, he might be on the field before too long, but he won't be Dustin Pedroia offensively for at least a couple of months, and maybe the remainder of the season. With a less than best possible result, who knows?

This is very unlikely, but if Pedey is out long term, thoughts on trying Mookie at 2nd? We could still have Young, JBJ, and Benny. Better than having to play Rutledge at 2nd.

We're approaching super two day. Rutledge/Marrero to 2B, Devers to 3B. All in favor say aye.

Yeah, Pedrioa is probably going to need to hit the DL. Pablo would have to be the corresponding move. They'd have no choice because of depth, even though they want him to get at bats in AAA. X-Rays were negative yesterday. Just a sprained wrist for now which would be the best scenario possible, even if it means a short DL stint.

Per the Boston Herald, the MRI revealed no structural damage to Pedroia's wrist.

we dodged that one - hopefully it will be just a few days. Panda and his .160 and poor defense vs Marrero and his similar average but stellar defense? I'll take my chances with Deven. Rutledge playing 2nd, I suspect. Hope that the rest of the order can crank it up.

Dave Dombrowski thinks that Pedrioa will be back after the 10 days is up on the DL.

I worry about Pedroia's history of coming back from injury too soon.

I worry about Pedroia's history of coming back from injury too soon. Same, but with the present roster situation, they might need him to depending on how the Sandoval/Marrero/Rutledge group does at 3B/2B in his absence. It'd be different with a healthy Holt and/or Hernandez, in which case I'd want him to rest and heal fully.
