Say what you will about the uneven first two months of the season. But right now the Red Sox are in position as a wild card team and can come at anyone with that rotation top four. Pretty good place to be.

You may be able to make that rotation top five if Pomeranz shows consistency.

Captain Obvious here. This is a big series. Take 3 out of 4 would be outstanding. Hope they can keep the miscues to a miniumum and put together some nice sequencing on offense.

My head says that I would be happy with a split in Baltimore in early June. My soul says sweep these jerks and make that overrated hack Showalter whine like a dog.

I think what I want more than anything before I start getting concerned is for Benintendi to snap out of his cold streak. I'm really glad he didn't start the season like this because everyone would be freaking out. His BABIP cratered in May, but he's also hitting a lot more ground balls.
The walks and strikeouts are good though, so I don't think there's any huge issue.

Fact is that not one of the Sox top five hitters are hitting up to expectations. I guess there is an argument for Bogaerts. Contrast to the Yankees who clearly have several players hitting way above what would be expected. Judge being the best example. He seems like a great prospect with a good head, but he's a career .278 hitter in the minors.

We are in pretty good shape all things considering....feeling that the best is yet to come - beginning with this series. Only bad part is that I am blacked out from watching in my area - but love to listen to Joe C!

Red Sox Bomaye!
Red Sox starters are second in the league in fWAR behind the Diamonbacks(!?!?), more than half of the WAR is from Sale though, who would rank as the 18th best team by himself.

The Red Sox scored 5.7 runs per game in May and their pitching looks better than ever with Pomeranz stepping up and Price looking promising. It's time to go on a tear.

In my opinion Showalter questioning the Sox toughness (the comments about the flu) played a major role in the bad blood between the two teams. I'd love to see Farrell get into it with Showalter and haul off and deck him.

Buck Showalter makes it easy to dislike him. I just saw an interview of him from today. He takes a routine question about divisional scheduling and he works in "Because nobody wants to play in Boston in September with an expanded roster because the locker room is so small, which they could fix..."
He's just got this weird inferiority complex or something which compels him to say annoying things about the Red Sox. A complete tool imo.

Just don't understand going inside to Trumbo. Less likely he can do damage on the low outside of the plate (reaching versus cranking).

I really hope ERod wasn't injured on that fall in the bullpen. He didn't look bad in the 1st despite the results.

Machado hitting .185 since the last meeting with the Sox. He'll probably be player of the week after this series.

Come on boys, need some runs. This offense needs more consistent production. Let's go. It's the Blo's here.

I liked it better in the days when the Red Sox hit homeruns against AL East teams.

Orioles back to punk us once again. Hopefully this doesn't send E-Rod into a spiral, hes been great this year. Guess you could say he was due for a bad one though.

It's too bad Jackie Bradley stinks and his hitting the last couple years has been a fluke.
