Actually very excited for this series. Pomeranz vs. Tanaka could be a whole lot more fun than I'd have thought it'd be at the beginning of the season.

I can't wait to see Judge. I find it very hard to believe he's this good. It screams like Sanchez last year of just a fluke hot streak. He has legit power, but it seems overnight he became one of the best overall hitters in majors. I just keep waiting for his Shaw like decline as the season goes on.

Pomeranz has looked more like Sale than Sale has in the last 3 starts.

Great inning by Pomeranz. Velo, control and location all looked good.

Sandoval is his own worst enemy at the plate. 8 pitches and Tanaka has thrown him exactly 2 strikes.

I'll take a 9 pitch strikeout over a 1 pitch single with two outs.

Ugh. Playing the man instead of the ball on a throw to third.

I'll take a 9 pitch strikeout over a 1 pitch single with two outs. Well, I was hoping for the 5-pitch walk rather than leading off the next inning with Marrero.

This is the Drew i remember, every AB is a 10 pitch WAR. Don't see him getting into the 6th in this one.

Yankees score a run and they ONLY had a BLOOP single in that inning.

It's almost surreal, how punchless the Sox lineup this year is, when they were SO good last year. First and third with nobody out in the first, but I have a sinking feeling that that one run is all they'll get off Tanaka (of the 6+ ERA, btw). Pomeranz needs to start economizing.

The next time the Red Sox smack Tanaka around would be the first time they'd smack him around. Tanaka has always pitched lights out against the Red Sox. I can't remember the Red Sox ever having a good offensive game against him. He could have a 10 ERA against everybody else and the Red Sox don't hit him. Hope my words look silly, but his track record against the Sox is what it is.
