I don't get Robby Scott vs. a bunch of RH hitters.

is there a reason to be bringing in a lefty against the righties up for Yanks? seems really stupid. you have a full bullpen tonight. Barnes should be in this spot

Farrell zigs when everyone else in baseball zags.

I haven't complained that often about Farrell this season because he hasn't made many stupid decisions, but using Scott against 2 RHB this inning is the absolute dumbest.

Memo to Farrell: your Loogy is your Loogy. That's it.

That run is on Farrell. For a mix and match manager, Farrell did a bad job of mixing and matching there.

it was profoundly dumb. I could see if the bullpen was taxed, but it wasn't. Hope we don't lose by 1 run.

Whatever. Scott ate an inning which we kind of needed given our starter's short night and it being a presumably tight series.
The pen needs to be a brick wall from here on out though. Not a smart decision but one run is fortunate enough.

That's two bad pitching decisions in two consecutive inning by the manager that has created 2 runs for the other team. In a four run game. In the 5th and 6th innings.
Offense better get busy.

There's a chance Scott comes back out for 7th against Carter and Gardner too.

If it wasn't 20 degrees outside in the middle of freaking June, the Sox would be up by 6 runs right now.

John Smoltz on MLB TV: "Don't let Pablo's body fool you. He's a real athletic guy."
There's a guy that did ZERO prep for this game.

I'd feel better about this game if Carson Smith was already activated but Barnes will probably be on for the 8th.

Rhetorical: if you could throw 98-100 why nibble, and why throw more than 1 off-speed pitch every 5 pitch sequence? Why not just throw the letter high strike in and out at 98+, the knee high outside 1/3 at 98+ and drop the curve when the batter's down in the count?

Pitch was right down the middle to Sanchez , for what should've been strike 3.

Do you walk the tying run on with Aaron Judge here?

No way? Who's watching the game on MLBN? Last pitch 104 MPH?(on the 2-2 pitch)

No way? Who's watching the game on MLBN? Last pitch 104 MPH? If that was the case, then Kelly would have officially thrown the fastest pitch in Red Sox history. Breaking his own record and Daniel Bard's record with the Sox.

Joe Kelly, winning hearts and minds throughout the nation. Did he really throw that one over 103mph?

was listed at 103.5 on MLB.com - easily the fastest pitch of the year by any MLB pitcher (previous fastest, per statcast, was 102.2 by....Joe Kelly)
