With Raudes scheduled to come off the DL today and pitch, that'll give Salem 7 men in the rotation. While it would be easy to see them shuffle Daniel Gonzalez back to Greenville, is there any possibility of a promotion for anyone in that rotation to Portland? They're still running with 4 guys since the Beeks promotion. I don't know if they're going to continue to use Villanueva as a starter (I hope not). The two possibilities I see are Kent and Dedgar Jimenez. Kent has more experience in Salem, but Jimenez is having a pretty good year and has 97 innings experience in Salem.

If someone did go up, you're right, it'd be Kent or Big Dedgar.

Won't be happening today though. Gonzalez paper move to Lowell is the countermove.
Also, Rusconi activated from the Drive Disabled List Infield to the Drive active roster.

DSL Sox lose 9-1. Alexander Martinez, leading off and playing cf, was 2-3 with BB. He's now hitting .474 in this sss season so far.
Gary Calvo struck out the first batter he faced and was then replaced. Assuming it must have been some type of injury. The pitching then struggled, although they totaled 12K's in all. The 7BB's didn't help.

Brian MacPherson @brianmacp Red Sox minor-league pitcher Yankory Pimentel, recently promoted from Salem to Portland, gets 80 games for a positive test for Stanozolol.

Nice start for Beeks tonight and Maddox looking good so far at AAA. 8K, 1BB, 4H in 6 innings. Just 1ER, although another scored on an error. Very nice work from Beeks tonight.

I know a lot are unsure if he will be a SP or RP at the MLB level, but I think you've got to at least give him a try at starting. An undersized lefty with pretty good stuff. WOuldn't be the first to find success at the MLB level.

Really glad to see Raudes with a decent start off the DL. Hopefully he can take this start and run with it.

Though I guess if the old saying is "you can never have enough pitching," it's super true that you can never have enough LH pitching.

He has 3 options, so that's valuable starter depth if he keeps starting. Brian Johnson is on his last option so I don't see how he can stay past this year.

Nothing wrong with having a long man in the bullpen. There will be a injury in the rotation eventually and he could just slide right in.
