Super throw by Leon to nail Iglesias trying to steal second.

Hanley may be more hurt than he's letting on. It could be that his timing's off, but the swing looks a lot like his swing after he was injured in his first April back in Boston. Last year he, and those around him, said the shoulder was healthy for most of the year, and he hit well. This year there's something incomplete about it. I don't have access to a video editing suite right now to compare the swings over the last three seasons so you'll have to take it FWIW.

Wow. The god awful players the tigers put in the field let the Red Sox tie this one up.

That's the closest ball I've seen hit to Ted Williams seat. What a shot.

How many does Kimbrel punch out tonight -- three, four, or five?

NESN needs a Sandoval-sized graphic to put on the screen when he hits right handed...

Good win.
Johnson was adequate. Very good to see JBJ continue to hit. Kimbrel is fun to watch.

Glad they could get this series off to a good start. Was on the road for Radio and heard Tomase bring up Todd Frazier (.741 OPS)as a possible answer at 3B but I don't think that's going to happen as long as they can slog along with Pablo and use Marrero as a D replacement.
But somebody's going to take the big guy: he's owed about 7 mil and is on pace to hit aprox. 35 hr's while so 176 times.

As bad as things have been we are still leading the Wild Card. If we can get 3rd stabilized and Hanley hitting we will be fine

The Red Sox have a need for David Price and Rick Porcello to be solid contributors. Without that the Red Sox won't have enough pitching to go far. And yes, 3b needs to be stabilized. Also Hanley Ramirez needs to hit like he did in the 2nd half of last year, although I don't think his shoulder will allow him to. I don't think he's been right all year.

That JBJ homerun was also huge for a multitude of other reasons too. The bullpen could of been spent by inning 11 (of extra innings) and we could of seen a position player pitching for the Sox by inning 12 or 13 in last night's game. JBJ really saved the day yesterday. Made a nice catch yesterday too.

Pablo. Jeez. They'll lose this challenge. Regardless that the Sox got a out or not, the Sox need a new third baseman. Pablo doesn't have the range of a third baseman, he can't field the balls hit at him a lot, his throws are erratic, he can't hit at all right handed, he doesn't hit well enough to keep him in the lineup versus RHP. Am I missing anything on Pablo? Bring up Devers, trade for Moustakas, trade for anyone else. It doesn't natter. Just finally DFA Sandoval. It's coming.

Agree that David and Rick need to step up. My concern is that the bullpen gets burned out, if they don't step up. 3B is a black hole right now. I would love for Devers to step up and live up to his hype, but I am equally concerned that a premature promotion could derail his development. Don't know what is up with HanRam, but to date he has been the biggest disappointment for me.
