Burger would be a nice pick. A little worried about him staying at 3B because of his body type, but it's pretty rare to see a college power hitter with a good K:BB fall this far.

The internet's writing on Burger reminds me of Brentz

Happy draft day one, among my favorite days of the year.
I don't follow the amateurs much at all so a lot of reading the last few days(much more to come).
Hoping for a high ceiling prep arm like: Sam Carlson or Steven Jennings. Maybe Blayne Enlow.
Most seem to think we're going college bat though. We'll see. Looking forward to a fun night

Too bad David Peterson doesn't look like he'll fall to number 24 here.

My final draftboad:
1. David Peterson – LHP 2. Griffin Canning – RHP 3. Evan White – 1B/OF 4. Tanner Houck – RHP 5. Keston Hiura – 2B 6. Sam Carlson – RHP 7. Blayne Enlow – RHP 8. Alex Lange – RHP 9. Nate Pearson – RHP 10. Tristen Lutz - OF
Others I could talk myself into: Nick Pratto, Hans Crouse, Tristen Lutz, Bubba Thompson, Nick Allen I'd rather avoid: Seth Romero, Logan Warmoth, Heliot Ramos, Jeren Kendall
Thoughts: Individually, the top 5 in my list are each unlikely to be available when we pick. Collectively, I'm hoping that one of those five is available however. If not, I hope Keith Law's hunch that we wouldn't take a prep arm is inaccurate as I think Carlson could be a nice pick at #24.

Multiple places saying the Twins are strongly considering Royce Lewis. I think that probably is to keep the price of the player they want in check. I only say this because the rumor spread everywhere at the same time like it was a coordinated effort.

This draft is seemingly so unsettled up top that I think you might be right...someone from the consensus 10-15 range is gonna drop. Idk about the BA Burger pick. He looks like a hitter, but he'd better be a helluva hitter because he's not going to play 3b for Boston, or probably anywhere. That said, as much as I love to dream on HS arms, they're such historically awful risks that I just don't know. I really hope either Houck or Peterson is available. I've very conflicted about this draft.

I feel like Eric Cartman waiting for the Nintendo wii. "Come on, come ON!!" Casa Bonita! Casa Boniiiiiita! One of the all-time greats! "Was it worth it?" "Totally." I'm reduced to crossing my fingers and hoping against hope that Shane Baz somehow bizarrely falls in our laps. Beyond that, I just want it over with so I can start second-guessing their picks in rounds 3-10, and fidgeting over whether they'll sign for a fat overslot the top-100 talent they drafted in rd 16.

Romero is a great talent, but when you're as good as he is, getting kicked off of a college team is a big red flag. I'm sure the team has done their due diligence on him though.

"But mooommm" Yeah too bad Nick Quintana graduated high school last year instead of this year. He should of failed 8th grade and stayed back like the rest of us. Lol

What worries me about Romero is him missing time due to suspensions if he can't put it away while he is in the minor leagues. Also I think his agent is Boras and you ain't getting a discount most likely, maybe have to go overslot even. Too much risk for the talent level in my view.
