So where does Brannen fit in the outfield picture for the system? From what I've heard so far I think he's definitely above the group of Mars, Matheny, Hill, and Cedrola. Only person above them is Aneury Taveras. I'm tempted to put him in front of Taveras too, but I'll be the first to admit I'm no expert. Don't know enough yet to make him a top 15 prospect.

Lots of speed, obviously. Watching the video and he's got some work to do with the swing. The balance is bad and he appears to be hitting off the front foot. Good build - he looks as if he might add some power if he works the kinks out. I think I see an uppercut buried in there.

Seems like if everything goes as well as possible we may be looking at AJ Pollock production? Obviously not a righty like pollock and I haven't seen him play so I have no idea what I'm talking about, just seems like that may be the best case scenario (which is obviously great)
I'm excited by the first two picks. I'm on board with them. I like the injection of speed into the system with this pick, it helps mitigate the losses of moncada/basabe/dubon in that respect

Mentioned this in the draft thread but he sounds like a Bret Gardner type of comp. Great pick.

I absolutely love this pick! He was on my radar ever since that crazy 60 yd dash.

Keith Law:
40. Cole Brannen, OF School: Westfield School, Perry, Georgia
Brannen is a plus runner with an average arm, projecting to stay in center field long term, with a quick swing that doesn’t project for power right now. He got off to a slow start this spring after a hamate injury but looked more like his old self toward the end of his season.

Want a good comp? How about Kevin Kiermaier with a much better swing!!

I like his swing. Jumping a little at a batting practice fastball is hardly a swing defect.

He's planted on the front foot before the bat goes through the zone. It's mostly just batting practice, but from what I could see, the same happened at game time. I need to dig up more footage if there is any to back that up of course. Just an initial reaction. To my mind, there should be a consistent approach, batting practice, game time, in the batting circle... every swing. But that's just me.
