Nice job with the new board. At the very least, you can count me as a fan of the change as now there is no record of how vehemently I urged other posters to stop freaking out about the Adrian Gonzalez to the Dodgers rumors as my brilliant opinion was that a player being claimed on revocable waivers was simply a "non-story" to be ignored.

Interesting new format. I guess even a relic and computer neanderthal like myself will get around to figuring out how it works in a few years. There is something symbolic about getting rid of a familiar environment that has in many ways served us well and starting afresh -- shortly after the Nick Punto trade.

Hope this works out. Where do we go to get game box scores?

I like the new site. What does "karma" mean? Is it like reputation or something like that?

New forum seems to be moving very fast on my PC.

I think Chris mentioned this somewhere, but we may eventually allow users to have "display names" of whatever they want (including caps, spaces). We just want to get through the transition smoothly first.

Much nicer new site, for sure! And, as ASF mentioned above, oddly fitting to do a "turn-the-page" migration just after Ben Cherington washed away the Theo Era, which, in the end, almost exactly matched the life of Yuku/SoxProspects.
Just a minor suggestion if it's possible ... don't know if the column width is adjustable in this layout, but I'd suggest making the left column a little smaller and the area for the message board a little bigger. In the current layout, the main content of the message board (the posts) is a little too small, imo. It only covers about half the screen (compared to Yuku, which was about 2/3 of the screen). Anyway, just my .02 as y'all move forward with refining this board.
Thanks for all the hard work, guys!

Brain Toast, what kind of comp are you on? Board is about 2/3 of the screen on any computer I've used so far.

Mac using Chrome. The overall board is 2/3 of the screen, but the actual posts themselves are about half the screen (rest being name/avator profile). The older Yuku had close to 2/3 of the screen for the actual posts, then the other 1/3 being profile+sidebar.
Not a huge deal; most of it is just that I'm used to the Yuku layout since I don't go to any other message board much these days ...

Does anybody know what this "Exalt/Smite" foolishness is? Does an exaltation lead to Karma? EDIT: Yes, exalts are +1 to karma

We just want to get through the transition smoothly first. If anybody wants to customize their displayed screen name (caps/spaces/etc.), please post in here and I will take care of it for you when I get a chance. (login info would remain the same)

Ads-in-posts might start popping up on in the next week or so, as our 90-day free trial is up. I'll deal with it promptly when the time comes, but I just wanted to let everyone know that we could wake up one morning to ads in posts. If and when that happens, I'll get it resolved within 24 hours or so.

So we paid Proboards to keep ads out of posts. However, we have added AdSense to the header and footer of the forums. The revenue from those ads go directly to our scouting costs.

And, just in time, too. After several outstanding posts in this new arena, I was designated a minus three karma. The indignity of it all! Good thing it was dropped because I was about to request a formal investigation.

Good thing it was dropped because I was about to request a formal investigation. Its simple, somebody doesn't agree with you they smite you instead of pleading their case. I noticed that a long time ago but had I said something earlier I'd be about -78 karma for it.

I noticed that a long time ago but had I said something earlier I'd be about -78 karma for it. How true. Smiting someone by firing while hiding behind the hedges is a bit cowardly and juvenile. It is designed to discourage discourse...in contrast to the fundamental principles of this site. Another great job by site managers to eliminate this blight. We are all the better for it.
