Is Mata being skipped for rest? Did I miss a game in here somewhere?

Is Mata being skipped for rest? Did I miss a game in here somewhere? That would make sense; he just turned 18. They probably have him on a innings restriction similar to Raudes and Espinoza.

Thompson gave up a three run tater in the first. Oregon state down 3 to 1 in the top of the third.

Looks like PawSox no hit through 5+ with a BB and E the only baserunners. Both erased by CS.

I know you can't really scout the DSL box scores. Is there a DSL preview somewhere? Anyone that can have a reasonable shot to finish the year in Lowell?
I assume most are repeating the level/over-age given the signing restrictions...

Maybe Mike or Chris or jmei or someone can recall a player that has done that, but I don't think anyone has ever started in the DSL and gone on to Lowell by the end of the year. However, there are likely a couple guys that will come up for the GCL. I'm not sure exactly who those guys would be though, but that isn't unusual.

Shows how little I follow short season ball... I don't think of GCL as being enough of an upgrade over DSL to throw a parade over a promotion. Maybe the question is could any start next season in Lowell (just assuming no one goes the Xander/Mata etc route to Greenville. Guess the answer is to keep ignoring the DSL and keep an eye out for Christopher Acosta's name.
For Devers, the OBP of .360 isn't going to amaze anyone, but in the context of the power, and a K rate under 20% (18.75%) with walk rate approaching 10% (8.75%) the peripherals are fine, though certainly reflective of a very high BABIP. These All Star Breaks cant come fast enough to get these two guys adjusting to the next level.

I assume most are repeating the level/over-age given the signing restrictions... I'll let someone else chime in more officially.....but theres little to follow in the DSL. Certainly nobody with a reasonable shot to finish in Lowell except if only because some of the guys on the roster are very old for the league. I believe Gregory Santos is a 17-yr old in the league with moderate upside and is off to a solid start. He could be worth a follow. That said, everyone there is repeating the league and the most interesting guys from the DSL last year (Castellanos, Lozada, Suarez, Mosqueda) are up to the GCL this year.

Not sure a parade needs to happen, but it's an encouraging sign if a kid gets bumped up during the year (It's usually somewhat planned, I think. There are visas to be acquired that take longer than a couple weeks).)

I'd suggest the jump is more about the living in a foreign land with English the primary language and mom, dad, family and friends a 'long ways off.'

The GCL is a significant step up from the DSL. The DSL is basically glorified Legion ball, where the GCL is a step above that, then Lowell is like college ball.
And jumping to Lowell in the same season isn't a thing - if the player was considered potentially good enough for Lowell, they're in the States right now. Jumping from the DSL one year to Lowell the following year is actually really significant.
2) There's not much to follow on the DSL team this year, as others have said. Because of the penalties enforced on the Sox, there's nobody new on the club, so the players there are the ones deemed not good enough to make the jump to the U.S. Just really not a great year to follow that club. A few of those players could come stateside next year, but I'd be stunned if any were above the GCL.
