Isn't Chris Young dhing tonight? That's what 98.5 is reporting because Hanley is dealing with a sore right knee issue. Honestly, can we just DL Hanley already? This is getting old. Heal up and come back ready post-break. I've had about enough of the diva stuff. If you're hurt, DL it and get better. In 2.5 years with Sox he "produced" 0.5 WAR while getting paied 22 millions a year.

Tzu bringing The Art of fWAR. Damn you beat me to it. Well now I'll make it boring and serious. I hope Lin can carry the same batted ball profile to the MLB level. It would actually do a lot for the major league squad if he could (sadly).

Turning another young pitcher into Cy Young...bats gone deathly quiet again. 23 year old kid was 3-7 8.02 last year. Having a good season for sure, but...

Joe Kelly and Craig Kimbrel are having weirdly identical/opposite seasons. Both are 29 years old with 32.2 IP in 31 games with a 1.10 ERA. Except Kimbrel has given up exactly half the hits, walked a third of the batters and struck out over double.

Just like yesterday's game, the starter looks gassed i. a 1-run game. But Farrell let's him start the inning and then waits until there are two on with no outs. Only this time he decides to leave him in. Sigh.

Well at least this kid they're facing actually has a decent shot of actually winning a Cy Young. If Xander doesn't hit the douple play in the first inning, this game could be 3-1.

Who was the last Red Sox free agent to live up exactly to expectations? No more, no less. (though with the past week, Moreland prob slightly outperforming expectations)

Amazing how average Lin needs to be in order to be the best option the Sox have had at third base all year.

Mookie has to steal second here, Pedey has been a GB machine.

Lin, a former $2 million bonus guy (set a record, IIRC) and Chavis, former first round near-bust both with breakout years... quick someone find Madison Younginer.

That was the Barnes we needed the other night....though it came in useful tonight.

And people were worried.
Tonight, Minnesota could hit the broadsides of a Barnes.
