Why would an agent be anywhere near the showers ? It was the agent's shower. Question is: why would the player shower at the agent's house? They may not be naming the player as to avoid outting their sexual orientation.

Ah OK, I didn't pick that up from the posts.
That shouldn't be the question, the question should be if it was done with player's consent. If so, it's a non issue. We idolize murderers, rapists, child abusers, spouse abusers, why should sexual orientation even be a topic of discussion ?
Staying at your likely out of town agent's house doesn't seem a bit unusual to me.

My guess is that he would not have. He's going to close, will earn saves, then probably get paid.

Don't worry, we'll probably trade for Reed later this year or next.

Huh. Forgot they'd signed Rodney. Strikes me as one of the first dominoes to fall, then, to the patience of the teams. We'll have to see if more players start caving.

Certainly feel like it has been reported that the Pirates at least at some point had a better offer on the table from NY. The Pirates must really like Musgrove and Moran

They have to like Musgrove as a starter, I'd imagine.
It seemed like Whitley was pretty prominent in the rumors that flew around last week, so it seems the Astros did well to get Cole without including him.

About as good as one could possibly look at that age at the A+ level. Filthy stuff

The Brad Hand extension with the Padres, was really underrated too.
It guarentees a haul if the Padres ever wanted to move him, unless Hand gets hurt.

What a great deal for the Astros. I would have thought they'd have to give up Whitley or Tucker or Fisher, but no, they gave up a guy who was terrible as a starter and excellent as a reliever in Musgrove, a good 3b prospect in Moran (funny how many people here didn't want to see the Sox draft him - was I one of them?) who is "surplus" with the Astros given the presence of Bregman who is a better player, a reliever, and a future backup OF.
I would guess Peacock goes to the bullpen? With their offense and a rotation of now Verlander, Keuchel, Cole, Morton, and McCullers, they are loaded. They still need to work on that bullpen, though, even with Peacock joining them.
The Astros and Yankees have improved themselves. Hope the Red Sox do, too.

The Astros are the best team in baseball until further notice. Whether that notice lasts 2 weeks into the season because of injuries or into the world series (again), remains to be seen.
They don't strike out. They slug. They fight through tough pitching. They have tough pitching.
Maybe they upgrade at closer, after the Cole move. In fact, I bet the Astros are already thinking about Holland now that they traded for Cole.
What a dynamo they have there in Houston.

Gosh... It's tough to see Reed take that deal in Minnesota. I had hoped Dombrowski would bring him back, and 2/17m seems like a bargain.

We don't talk enough about what a disgrace the Mets are. I mean, we talk about it a lot, but I still don't think it's enough.

I wouldn't use the word disgrace to describe the Mets team (ownership, maybe). I'd use the words mismanaged and snakebit. I like their new manager and 'they say' Harvey and Wheeler are healthy. Thor is back. It's a weak division save for the Nats. Second place is doable, .500 is doable, beyond that WGaF.

Kendrick's deal looks like a steal compared to Morelands deal. I know that they play 2 different positons but Kendrick has played first and he is versatile like Holt and can play anywhere but catcher. I think that would of been perfect for the team but I am sure Kendrick liked DC and gave some sort of a deal to stay there.
