I think he'd be a good fit for the team as a left hand hitting bat & 4th outfielder. He's on a 1 year deal with Toronto & only making $5m this year.
Swihart for Granderson. (Might take more, Lin?)

I'm surprised you didn't want to put him in CF to replace JBJ.

I'm surprised you didn't want to put him in CF to replace JBJ. He's being sneaky.

Nah, don't see the value. We could use a right handed OF/1B type far more.

Nah, don't see the value. We could use a right handed OF/1B type far more. Obviously Canha fits the bill with his ability to hit lefties, play all 3 OF positions and handle 1b. But Steve Pearce would fit nicely too as he can handle the corner OF/1b spot as has pop off the bench. Besides, he still has to go to the Sox before he completes his AL East circuit, having already played for NYY, Bal, TB, and Tor.

I actually like Granderson as a lefty with pop off the bench for some contender - he'd be a good pickup for some NL club since he's a cheap can pinch hit and then ideally DH against righties in October. Seems like he'd be a decent fit in Atlanta, for example. The Red Sox really need someone who is effective against lefties, though, and that is very much not Curtis Granderson anymore.
