He's having a good season and is on a one year deal. Could be a nice addition to beef up the back end of the rotation.

I don't know why, but I feel like Atlanta would entertain an offer because I think they think that they are still building.

The Braves aren't going to trade anyone in the middle of a pennant race. Come on man.

I don't know why, but I feel like Atlanta would entertain an offer because I think they think that they are still building. I just don’t see Atlanta feeling the need. They’re a half game out. He costs them nothing. Their minor league system is one of the best in baseball (although they do have the IFA moratorium). They don’t *need* prospects, and a rental 34-y/o injury-prone pitcher, even having a nice year, wouldn’t bring much back anyway. There’s just no incentive to move him and a ton of incentive to keep him around. They’ve got the NL’s 3rd-best run differential and they’re high-liklihood to make the playoffs. Trading him would be bad for fan relations and, more importantly, really bad for team morale.
