Chavis is not a bad hitter Agree. A 2.111 OPS is pretty good. 5 more minutes before someone asks if he will play in the majors this year.

I was actually more wondering if he will play in the majors next year before September. And... where? As Chavis gets closer to a shot, the question of position becomes more interesting. Edit: Obviously I am musing on these things because I am stoked about him, even if irrationally. I remember him getting off to a rough start after being drafted, and he has busted his backside to become an exciting hitter. I love it.

He’s going to be the first bat off the bench in the World Series, obviously Really though they just need to figure out where they are gonna put that glove because sheeeeeeesh he can mash

The schedule and roster for Instructionals are not out yet, but will likely be available sometime between Labor Day and Sept 10. Our guess is that the season will start the week of September 24, and it will run through mid-October. We will post it on the News Page when we get the info.

I also want to give Ockimey some love. I feel like of the trio of young power hitters, he gets the least love (maybe because he has the least defensive upside). But he is younger than Dalbec and a level ahead — after putting up comparable AA numbers over a longer span. Anyway, that is not to diminish anyone. On the contrary, I am increasingly intrigued by Ockimey.

But they probably want him hitting more than that. I wonder if they'll start giving him some reps in LF as well.
