The pants leg waved which means there was contact with Kinslersglove. Should have been overturned

Old pal Alex Wilson got the win for the Tigers. Yes, that Alex Wilson. Honorary favorite former Sox' player of the day!

Insane game. All but one of the 15 runs scored on homers, 7 of them, all of which either changed the lead (3, in succession), broke a tie (3), or tied the game (1). Betances gave up game-tying and go-ahead homers (3 runs) wit one out in the 9th.

Realllly savvy pitch calling in that inning by Swihart. Kelly’s first two pitches were fastballs, and were tagged - one a line drive single up the middle, one a warning track fly out. Of the next 15 pitches, only one was a fastball - at one point, they went with 10 (10!) curveballs in a row. Kelly had his wipeout offspeed stuff, and it was nice to see him use it.

I went out for beer to drown my sorrows and lo and behold! A new game! Now that beer is for the suspense and can later be for celebrating or for its original purpose.

I must say, if the Sox can figure out a way to win THIS game with their # 2-6 hitters going 0 - 16 now, that would be a serious escape.
Meanwhile, the Yankees burned through the business end of their bullpen and couldn't hold on. Oh well -- such a pity.

Don’t know how I feel about this. Cutch was good recently, so that’s bad. Does it mean Judge is out a longer time? Don’t mind that.

As one twitter user pointed out, the Yanks seem headed for the wildcard game, so this trade doesn’t make a whole lot of sense unless they don’t think Judge is going to be back by the end of the season.

Loving what Brasier is giving this team - add Workman and Kelly's work...pretty encouraging for the pen. Let's see how things play out in this one.

I'm just happy that the Yankees give up another top 30 prospect from their system. Unless they win the WS they've given up quite a bit with all of the trades they made which would pretty much end up for nothing. Can't be too mad about that.

I am loving Swihart. So happy they didn’t give up on him. For all the angst about DD trading prospects, he’s clung to guys who look like possible cornerstones.

JBJ is developing a flair for the dramatic. Let's now make this Kimbrel proof and score some more!

That has to feel good for JBJ. Made very good contact earlier in the game with the bases loaded and it found a glove. This one was solid contact too and it got through.

Jackie is a good player, I cant imagine not having him. If he could just get a tad more consistent with that bat...
