Wow Holt.... That was just barely out of here too! Upper deck in Yankee Stadium. That was 388 feet.

Alright Cora. Hector Velazquez in a 2 run game? Really?

That was the perfect Jose Ramirez/Mookie Betts swing by Holt. You hit the ball about foot in front of the plate and the launch angle takes care of itself.

Again, a home plate umpire changes the complection of the at bat. This time Brockstar said, “I don’t care.”

I have to say I got a bit of a bug in me -- when an ump calls a ball obviously high for a strike (infuriating) which is followed by a homer -- well, it is simply justice at that point. So gratifying!
And JImEd and Sox67 -- take care. I had to live through Harvey down here -- stock up as much as you can. A picnic it ain't. Good luck to you!

Alright Cora. Hector Velazquez in a 2 run game? Really? 2 pitches! lol Got the job done. Cora deserves some slack at the moment after pulling Moreland back for Holt.

Curious on why gibbons didn’t bring in lefty to face holt especially considering holts great numbers vs the righty

Poyner is making a strong case for the postseason roster here.

Curious on why gibbons didn’t bring in lefty to face holt especially considering holts great numbers vs the righty My thought was that Cora went to Holt instead of Moreland because Holt has reverse splits and also hits Tepera well. Bringing Moreland in would guarantee a bad matchup. But if I were Gibbons, I'd bring the lefty in anyway.

i remember, back in the day, the Steelers (hate em) used to switch sides in the 4th quarter holding up 4 fingers to signify their dominance in the 4th quarter.
I think the Red Sox should put their mitts on top of their heads and walk off the diamond holding 7 fingers up in the air before they bat in the 7th.

Loving the way the game has turned, of course. Was watching Netflix series Alias Grace (Margaret Atwood) until 930 - wife went to bed and I switched to the Roku/TV combo of mlb.com JUST in time to see the Holt bomb.
MFY getting hammered. Magic number in single digits after tonight if things continue to go our way.
And of course anxiously awaiting the 11 PM tropical update...
