9/14-9/16 Red Sox vs. Mets Series Thread
|
Post by pedrofanforever45 on Sept 15, 2018 16:23:06 GMT -5
The Astros lead the league in run differential. Oh no, we're dooooooomed. The Red Sox are awful. Betchya can't wait to be right and tell us you were right if they don't win the WS, even though there is absolutely nothing that can ever be done to guarantee anything in a short series. When did I ever say anything like that? I've been the one thinking that the Sox are winning the world series. Just unfair for you to deliver snark to posters who think players on the offensive side aren't struggling a little. Go check Leon, Vazquez, Moreland, Devers stats in the second half. Even Mookie and JDM have regressed in the second half from their first halves.

I'd just love to see our offense click, instead of sputter. The production from the first half to the second half by anyone not named JBJ, JDM, and Mookie has been mediocre to bad. Leon hasn't had a hit in weeks. Benintendi isn't slugging all that much. Devers has disappeared. Moreland has turned into one of the worst hitters in baseball in the second half. The Sox are going to need more guys to get going. JDM and Mookie can't do it by themselves this postseason. Bogaerts' wRC+ has improved every month since May. So that should be anyone not named JBJ, JDM, Mookie, or Bogie. Oh, and Nunez has certainly gotten better. So anyone not named JBJ, JDM, Mookie, Bogie, or Nunie. And Pearce has been solid. But if you meant Moreland, Holt, and Leon, then I agree. They haven't been very good lately.

Yeah, it would be great to be leading the league in runs, oh wait. I am always amazed at how you can out yourself as a complete jerk during some games. I am always amazed at how much people complain about when we have 101 wins by 9/15. When did old-time baseball fans forget what baseball is? It's literally impossible to do what people are complaining about now.

Porcello will be a wild card in the playoffs. I am happy he is on our squad, hoping for the best.

Ya know, when you actually had to admit that you'd rather the Red Sox win the WS than have DDo fired. Is that a reasonable take on this season really? Because you're certain they will not win and that DDo should be fired. This is your take on a 101 win season by 9/15.

That's half of your lineup there.

I said DD should be fired if the Sox don't win anything the next 2 years. I hope the Sox win this year. I just don't throw out every negative opinion or fact about the Sox this year and only look at the positives like you do.

Troll, yeah.

Kieth Hernandez is one of my least favorite color commentators. To me he's boring as crap, literally. Jonny Gomer is not boring.
I hate having the Mets broadcast be the one of choice.

Devers has been jerked around so much with the DL stints, it's kind of hard to say with him. His wRC+ has actually only dropped from 86 to 82 from the first to the second half. At a certain point it looked like he was heating up, but then the "injuries" hit. All in all, I'd say the lineup has some guys running hot, some guys running cold, and some guys treading water. Kind of the usual. And considering how good the offense is overall, that seems fine.

I am very hesitant to put myself into this situation, because i believe people should be able to post freely, but you aren't a moderator and should not be commenting on what people post about. I don't get the sense that anyone is unhappy with this year.

That's interesting, I like him. I always liked Darling also, but he isn't on today. Add: I like the way he offers anecdotal baseball stories.

I mean, Leon hasn't had a hit since August 23rd. That is like a historic slump right there. Benintendi has dropped over 65 points OPS wise since June (he had a OPS of over .900 by that time). Kinsler has only really brought the glove since coming over. Hasn't gotten hot at all. Devers has been bad all year outside of a homerun here and there. Just would like to see a little more outside of the first 4 hitters.

Strange series so far, the Mets are playing good baseball. Doesn't seem like a below .500 team.

This team incapability of hitting LHP is way more concerning to me than the bullpen in October. It gets to the point where when I see a LH reliever coming in, I say to my self "We're not scoring run in this inning, are we?"

I just find his demeanor too boring for a color man. Darling is very good.

Porcello will be a wild card in the playoffs. I am happy he is on our squad, hoping for the best. The homeruns given up are trending in the wrong direction. I don't know if he's getting tired or what. He's the only starter that hasn't missed or skipped a start all year.
