Kind of reminiscent of what Mookie did in Lowell iirc Yep! Mookie's the only teenage prospect with this advanced feel for the strike zone I can remember. Unlike Cecchini and Lars, he drew more walks than Ks and I think that AF will end this season reproduce that #feat and he's a year younger than Mookie then!

If his slash line stays pretty modest by season's end (and perhaps it won't), he'll probably drop slightly in rankings across outlets that take a quick peek at his OPS or wRC+ and get the sense that he was overmatched. This is great to see...I had no idea his BB% ranked first in the league, and that BABIP/LD% discrepancy definitely suggests he's been unlucky. Yup. Ian was already yelling at me and Mike yesterday for a future drop in our personal rankings we hadn't made yet (and wouldn't have made). It was pretty funny. But yeah, if you want to figure out which outlets are scouting the box score, Flores' ranking will be a nice barometer this offseason. Kind of reminiscent of what Mookie did in Lowell iirc I don't see it, personally. How do you mean? Mookie, 2012 (19yo): .267/.352/.307, 11.0% BB%, 10.3% K%, 55.3% GB%, poor SS defense Flores, 2019 (18yo): .191/.337/.235, 16.9% BB%, 20.5% K%, 38.8% GB%, inconsistent SS defense with flashes of potential. And fwiw, Mookie Betts from May 2013 onward is a different player from the one prior. It's like a switch flipped in a way I've never seen before or since. You can literally see in the game logs the day he was bitten by the radioactive spider.

Without looking into the numbers I just remembered Mookie being a zero present power guy with a really good understanding of the strike zone. With the numbers you’ve provided there is obviously more to it though, Mookie was making much more contact And that ascent was sure something to watch. We’d be fortunate to see another Sox prospect do the same thing within our lifetime #Feats

Yup more contact but probably poorer contact? Well admit I didn't see him until Salem by which point he was off and running (that Marrero-Betts DP combo was fun).

I think he meant the similarities in mastering the strike zone at a young age.

Right. I don't see it.
