Manny Machado with his second slide at the knees into second. Both times he went for the knee with his hands instead of spiking. He's going to incite another brawl. How can anyone not hate this guy? Yankee fans will worship him soon probably.

What the Brewers did on arriving at Chavez Ravine in a tied NLCS is exactly what the Sox hopefully do on arriving at Minute Maid in a tied ALCS. And that’s just what they did. Awesome.

Machado has also been drawing flack for not hustling the last few days.

Counsell on if Manny Machado has gone beyond the bounds of playing hard: “I don’t think he’s playing all that hard,” Counsell said.

Machado has a lot of A-Rod in him. He always seems to play on the edge/cross the line and then pretend like he is innocent. Not a fan of Machado. Aguilar would have ripped him into pieces if it wasn't a playoff game.

Anyone able to stay up for this one last night? Unfortunately I passed out in the eighth. Looks like it was a classic.

Seems like Machado is auditioning for the Astros.

Seems like Machado is auditioning for the Astros. He’d fit in well with Bregman, who is Mr. Popcorn Eyewash. They send chills down my spine.

Anyone able to stay up for this one last night? Unfortunately I passed out in the eighth. Looks like it was a classic. Yeah, I watched the last inning. Machado got on with a sharp single. He got to second on a very smart play - a wild pitch that got maybe 10 feet away that he immediately ran on. Then he barely beat the throw home with a fade away slide on a hard Bellinger single to right. Yelich nailed the throw but it was a split-second late. Machado can be a jerk, but he's also a great ballplayer, as we all know. Dodgers seemed happy with him. As an aside, Yelich has a gun out there. He made one great catch in foul territory and almost made another. He's a ballplayer.

Machado actually is saying that he couldn't get out of the way. How laughable. Does anyone now deny that he purposefully took out Pedroia's knee last year? The same knee that is threatening his career?

Many of the Brewers and Orel Hershiser are not happy with Machado.... “I don’t think he’s playing all that hard,” Counsell said dryly. Yellich... “It’s a dirty play by a dirty player.” “It’s embarrassing,” Hershiser said. “It’s embarrassing to himself. It’s embarrassing to the game.” “I’m not the type of player that’s going to be ‘Johnny Hustle,’ ” Machado said. www.latimes.com/sports/mlb/la-sp-machado-dodgers-20181017-story.html

He apparently is a danger to other players, as our 2nd basemen found out. He has history of this behavior, against people.that are his union members. MLB should suspend him for the rest of the.series, but they won't. This was blatant.

The same knee that is threatening his career? All too often something triggers that memory, and my mind replays that dirty slide on Pedey, which makes my blood boil. I am glad the Sox can’t afford him, and with Bogaerts, Devers, great team chemistry, and a slew of miLB good IF on the rise, don’t need him. In all likelihood the Dodgers extend him, which is a good solution for the Sox, a team which recently opted to not pursue Osuna or Chapman. Kids learn so much from their baseball heroes and Sox Nation kids are learning well.

Turner is still under contract and Seagar is still the future at short stop on that team, even with his year long injury. He's going to the Braves, Phillies, or Yankees. All of these teams will have the most money to spend on Machado. The Yankees seems to be his first choice as reported everywhere. You might hate him even more soon enough.

Why even bother naming a starting pitcher? Milwaukee took Miley out after he walks the leadoff man in the 1st inning after 5 pitches. I guess he could start every game of the series just to face Bellinger.

They load it up with their platoon right-handed bats and are unlikely to switch out that early in the game.

Apparently, Miley is pitching game 6.

I personally would hesitate to give Kershaw more than what he has left on his deal. I wonder if he might not opt-out. He's only pitching 89-90. Still pitching well, but how many years do you want of decline?
Also why I'd hesitate to give Sale (or anyone else ever) a Price contract or better.

I think the Dodgers add a year or two and Kershaw doesn't opt out. I don't see him leaving California.
