That's everyone unless I'm missing someone. And every one of them is higher than MLBTR estimates except for ERod. I only checked through Barnes though.

It's like DD has done a full 180 from when he started. He was crazy predictable and what he said was litterally something you could take to the Bank! Yet now a days it seems he keeps saying crap to throw off people and teams, gain leverage or I don't know just mix things up. He litterally said just that and bam did the exact opposite. I'm guess it was to gain leverage and get these guys to compromise. Which makes sense you don't want to hurt your relationships with players over a small sum of money. I bring this up because a bunch of people think DD is the straight shooter he was when he first took the job. Yet that just doesn't seem to be the case anymore. It's like he morphed into more of a Danny Ainge type of guy. Which is very Smart, yet means we litterally shouldn't take everything he says to the bank like we could a few years back. No, "file and trial" is a tactic teams use in situations when they do not reach a settlement. In other words, they do not continue negotiating once numbers are filed with the arbitrator. While I also haven't seen any recent comments from Dombrowski about this (either of you have a link? I'm curious), if he did, reaching a settlement before the deadline is not inconsistent with "file and trial," which Dombrowski does use. I have no clue where I read that, but it was yesterday. I read things from like 30 sources a day and I'm not spending the time to try and gind it again. DD said it took some time to decide what approach he was going to take and they decided on the file and trial approasch. The next day everyone signs. I'm not the only one that heard it so its out there some place.

Got/estimate:
Betts: $20m/$18.7m Bogaerts: $12m/$11.9m JBJ: $8.55m/$7.9m Erod: $4.3m/$4.8m Holt: $3.575m/$3.4m Leon: $2.475m/$2.3m Thornburg: $1.75m/$2.3m Barnes: $1.6m/$1.5m Wright: $1.375m/$1.4m Workman: $1.15m/$1.4m Hembree: $1.3125m/$1.2m Swihart: $910k/$1.1m Total: $58,997,500/$57.9m
So call it 1.1m over the estimate for 12 players. I'll take it.
Taking out Thornburg, which was likely a "take this or we're not going to revert you a contract" situation it's $57,247,500/$55.6m, or like 1.6m over. Still fine.

I can't seem to find it, but anyone know off hand what the limit is that the Sox would need to stay under to avoid falling back in the draft again? I know it was $237M last year, but can't stumble on the 2019 number

I believe that figure is $248M for the upcoming year. I've attached the payroll list for all the signed players, and for the cost of Sandoval. This doesn't include players such as Lin who spent time with the club. Those costs shouldn't amount to more than a million or so. There's also the overhead which isn't included (click to enlarge), but there's some slack in here:

That is part of the overhead I believe. It's also only an estimate for the three non-arb players at the bottom.

Also, some of the numbers appear off.

Thanks, those figures were taken from Spotrac, and I didn't have those estimates for 40-man, MILB, and bonuses, or the medical/benefits stuff. That's good go know.
