That is a truly superb blast from the past. Totally coincidental. MiLB is doing 160 teams in 160 days and that came up first.

Or was it simply more fun to bash them 16-1 in ALDS Game 3? This was great but mine was the hiring of Alex Cora.

Sox 4-game sweep of the Yankees in August. That was an incredible series. Game 1 the Sox trailed early, then exploded for 8 runs in the 4th and ultimately won 15-7. Pearce hit three home runs in that game. Game 2 was Porcello’s complete game 1-hitter. Eovaldi followed in Game 3 with 8 shutout innings. Game 4 was especially satisfying. The Sox trailed 4-1 in the bottom of the 9th, scored three off of Chapman to tie it, then one more off of Jonathan Holder in the 10th to win the game. The Red Sox went from 5.5 games up to 9.5 up in the span of four days and all but had the AL East race wrapped up in early August. I have to go with the sweep of the mfy also. Not only for the obvious reasons but for the 2 new guys, Eovoldi and Pearce contributing the way they did. It was a precursor to what they would bring but also provided the boost you hope for from mid season deals. They ended up being the perfect acquisitions.

I was there in person for #1 along the third base line (right between 3B and LF). The crowd was completely out of it most of the game. Some fans started to leave by around the 7th inning/start of the 8th. My girlfriend and her sister were trying to get me to leave and I kept saying "maybe next inning". By the 8th they went to the bathroom and told me they would wait there until I came to leave. Let's just say I never left my seat, but they certainly came back haha. Another person behind me had dinner reservations with his family and they kept trying to make him leave because they were going to be late. He kept insisting that they had to stay and they ended up making the smart decision! I was also there for the game before as well. Believe JD hit a 2-run HR and Xander hit a grandslam into the monster seats for a 10-2 win or something like that. Was a fun one to see as well!

One of my favorite moments just happened: JBJ getting his Gold Glove. He deserves it. It is amazing how much he means out there. Balls get hit anywhere from the rightfield line to left center, and between Mookie and JBJ, I think that dude’s out and someone may be getting doubled up. Love them, love Jackie.

Joe Kelly vs. Tyler Austin. I'd forgotten what a jerk Tyler Austin is. There is absolutely no doubt he intentionally spiked Holt. Too bad the Yankees traded him. He was perfect for the Yankees.

I’m happy for JBJ as well. There are some tough roster decisions coming up for this team, but I hope they do everything they can to keep this outfield together for the foreseeable future.

Watching Benny get pumped like that was definitely something I'll never forget about the 2018 run. Still feels surreal that run. I think I missed 5 games all year this past season. There was a ton of pressure to win with a immensely talented team. What a ride.

Watching the Benny catch again reminds me what a great game Game 4 of the ALCS was. Other than game 5 of the World Series it was my favorite game of the season and probably the most exciting. Especially the way it ended.
Congrats to Benintendi on the award!

Merry Chrismas to YOU my friends! You've been rooting for one of the greatest team in MLB history in 2018 and I can't think of a better present! Cheers.

Two of my favorite parts of this season actually came in losses. The first was Mookie's cycle - watching everybody celebrate in the middle of a random loss in August showed just how much fun everybody was having and how special this team was. The second was Eovaldi mowing down the Dodgers in Game 3 for as long as humanly possible before eventually giving up the seemingly inevitable home run. The poetry of baseball is really found more in the failures than the successes, and (now that we've won) it's nice that even that even the low points of the season were sort of beautiful. For “moment,” yeah, Mookie’s GS vs Happ. Or Benintendi’s catch vs Houston...what a PLAY. But “performance?” I’m with you, that Eovaldi G3 was truly the stuff of legend and embodied everything this team was about, right down to brushing off a loss and going right back at ‘em, relentless, the next day. One of my short-list favorite pitching performances of all time (Pedro’s 17K in NY and 6-IP no-hit relief vs. Cleveland; the bloody sock (I saw ver 2.0 in person in the WS); Clemens’s first 20-K game...there aren’t many, and Eovaldi’s is solidly entrenched). It’s funny though...this past season was just a magic carpet ride start to finish. Picking moments...it just seems silly cuz the sweet was even sweeter for the sour. I guess that’s why Eovaldi’s game resonates so much for me.

Wow, Sam Travis with a 5 star catch with a 15% probability. I remember the play, but I didn't remember the Statcast stuff.

"We just won the ‘chip. I don’t know another city doin’ this. Pearce was hittin’ shots. Price was pitchin’ lights out now we at the top. We the champs doin’ damage we the Boston Red Sox
This the team that got the block hot. Super hot. Give us our respect. Look like MJ with my Benintendi catch. Stuntin’ like Joe Kelly in the specs."
Happy New Year Champs!
