The answer is Alex Cora who is being extended thru 2021 with a club option for 2022.

(ok well tied with Tito) The thread question was who do you want for 2019? My awkward answer is Alex Cora - leading the Sox in 2019, not that it was ever in doubt. Just glad the Sox are rewarding him!

(ok well tied with Tito) When he gets that 2nd Championship then I guess we can call him the best manager in history. Until then it's Tito. Who is the best manager for the Red Sox in a given year? That has to be Cora in 2018 with Dick Williams 1967 coming in 2nd and Tito for 2004 coming in 3rd.

Congrats to Cora. Well deserved. I loved him as a player, now he's doing it as a manager in Boston. I love when Boston keeps their own and rewards their own.

I hope he's being paid more than he ever was as a player.
