Zero outrage. Also zero resemblance. They look nothing alike I have to agree with soxfan. Though there is a biological reason why cultures are less likely to recognize "non-group members" etc. www.apa.org/pubs/highlights/peeps/issue-117

Because there is not really such a thing as "top 30 International prospects": Well, the Yankees just somehow signed a guy who is being compared to mike trout and Mickey Mantle why aren’t the Red Sox in a bidding war for that guy like when they stole moncada from the yanks?

There are no bidding wars in international signings. These are relationships developed for 3-4 years. Moncada was a one time thing.

International free agents are a crap shoot. There is 0 sense of guarantees at all. Dominguez could never make it out of the DSL and a guy signed for $5k could become a major leaguer. There’s no way of telling.

I'll answer that in three parts. First: the Yankees may have regarded him more highly than the Red Sox Second: the Yankees may have had an agreement with him when he was like 12 - there aren't bidding wars for the July 2 signees in the same way there are for actual free agents. More like a really gross way of agreeing with tween boys and then hiding them and not letting them play in games. Which is why Badler isn't ranking them anymore. Third: That's two thwaps with the nerf gun!

The Yankees signed 52 guys in 2014-2015 and effectively got the rules changed all by themselves. They signed 7 guys for more than $1 million. Their top gets from that group?
Estevan Florial ($200K) and Freicer Perez ($10K)

Estevan Florial ($200K) and Freicer Perez ($10K) True, it's a crapshoot, but they must have felt very, very strongly about Dominguez to commit 5 million to him. That's a lot of money right there. It's no guarantee but they must feel strongly that's he's a huge prospect.

Fourth: We have no idea if the Red Sox were or were not trying to sign him when he actually committed to this contract, be it 6, 12, or 24 or more months ago. Hard to be justified in being upset about something when you literally have no idea what actually went down. It's also possible they didn't feel that price was worth it.

Allen Castro — I think maybe a Ray Allen/A-Rod mash-up but not an A-Rod look alike expect for maybe the cheekbones. Let’s just hope his talent more approximates A-Rod than his personality does!
