Love seeing Chavis hit a HR to the opposite field. Does anyone know if he normally hits to all fields?

Love seeing Chavis hit a HR to the opposite field. Does anyone know if he normally hits to all fields? SP profile lists his power as "especially to pull side" so I'd assume not.

Love seeing Chavis hit a HR to the opposite field. Does anyone know if he normally hits to all fields? Early in his career he was a bit pull-heavy, and I’ve read that he described himself as trying too hard to hit for power. His Salem breakout coincided with a direct, coordinated attempt to focus on a hard contact, up-the-middle approach, and it showed up in a drop in pull% and corresponding increase in C/oppo. On promotion to AA, and again last year (small samples), he tended towards pulling more again. I get the sense that when he puts pressure on himself (and this probably fits with promotion to a historically crucial level (AA) or returning from suspension), he feels the need to hit HR and he begins to rely on pull-side power. But at his best, he’s an up-the-middle LD/FB hitter with all-fields power due to excellent bat speed. I think any hitting breakout at the next level (AAA/MLB) is going to be related to him staying within himself and maintaining focus on hard contact, not results. He’s got more than enough raw power to get his share of HR if he consistently goes up the middle; next adjustment might be using the pull side selectively. www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa828673&position=3B

Love seeing Chavis hit a HR to the opposite field. Does anyone know if he normally hits to all fields? You want him pulling the ball in Fenway if you're a RHB.

Saw the clip and hope he continues with a good spring. I was listening in the car and Joe said he slid head-first and looked like he jammed fingers. Hope the skipper tells him we can do without that and focus on staying healthy!

We may take in a Tigers game or 2 since Joker Marchant upgrades finally done. Still planning trip-2 during GCL season. Maybe this time can actually meet up, or during a Sox road trip to Ed Smith stadium MiLB complex.

Workman was dealing (I've always liked him...hoping he finds the magic this year). First look at Brewer...looking really good so far.

Fangraphs does have batted ball numbers for the minor leagues: www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa828673&position=3B#battedball(Probably not the most reliable data in the world, but he does appear to have been an extreme pull hitter last year)

Last season Chavis pulled every grounder, but sprayed it all over the place in the air

Chavis looked like Pearce there. I wonder if that is who his career might mirror given he really doesn't have a position?

Workman was dealing (I've always liked him...hoping he finds the magic this year). First look at Brewer...looking really good so far. If only he could recover his fastball. Since his injury, the FB is more like a "show me". Outstanding breaking ball tho. I think he is a fringe guy but there are 2 openings. We'd better hope we can pull out a rabbit or two. If not, this site will be 'hot' come June.

He was throwing 94 before his surgery.
