Something to watch in Pawtucket: Michael Chavis has a solid .541 SLG and .298 Iso, which is very good on its own. But he's also doing that with a .231 BABIP and only 18.6% strikeout rate. Sometimes a low BABIP/low K rate will indicate a guy who is giving up some of his power for more (weak) contact, but that sort of isolated slugging certainly doesn't indicate that is something that's going on here.
I didn't expect to see him before August-ish, but it would be lovely to have him force the issue.

He doesn’t even have to be that competent at 2B defensively because we already know the guy in the bigs isn’t!

And Moreland power surge aside, Red Sox first basemen have a .296 OBP and Pearce (who is broadly similar as a type to Chavis) has been bad.

Ian got a look at Chavis at both 2B and 3B last night. Patrons have access to a Game Update right now, and I'm sure we'll discuss it in the podcast we're going to record this weekend (or at least he will - unsure if my vocal chords will survive the Swihart rant).

Still can't watch MiLB.TV but the good news is that I have a lot of case numbers. What totally inept customer support.

Sorry Ray. Have you tried using a VPN in the meantime? If it's an issue with the country you're in, that might help.

It's not the IP. When I log in with my email account that I've always used, it tells me I don't have a subscription.

So far, we're being outscored 12-1.

If I could move one stadium in the minor leagues, it would be the Charleston one from the middle of nowhere on the northeast end of town to the area between the train yard and the Cooper River just north of the aquarium.

I have, indeed, never been to Adelanto, California.

Brannen another 0-4 day with 4 LOB....will he be sent back down? Feel really bad for him at this point. Does he have a single tool that’s even average?

The Adelanto town highlight, other than the baseball field placed in the middle of nowhere in the high dessert is (was) a seedy bar and private poker club. Of course there were also $5 girls who were worth every penny of that. One weird thing though, long long ago, before anyone ever heard of Krispy Creme, they had a donut shop that made "Texas sized" donuts that melted in your mouth much the same as Krispy's do.

Apparently his hit tool must be the reason he can’t put the plus speed to use because I just counted he has only 10 xtra base hits in a 3 year span in the minors...438 at bats.

Poyner faced 10 batters tonight: He struck out 6, walked 2 and gave up a dinger to 1. I love that kind of TTO staff lol

If Duran keeps hitting does he get moved up a level this summer?

Chavis leans into a 3-0 middle middle Fastball and launch it 434 ft deep.

If Duran keeps hitting does he get moved up a level this summer? Short answer: Yes. Longer answer: His BABIP is floating around .500 right now - but with his contact skill and speed to beat out maybe a single a week, it's going to play up at that level. But... we're talking about a guy hitting in the .380's right now. Him coming back down to the .300-.320 range is still pretty exciting. So, also yes. On the last day of our Fort Myers trip, we kind of agreed that the idea of him being a September call-up this year wasn't really likely but also wasn't crazy. Given his set of skills, the fact he hasn't met resistance yet, and Dombrowski's aggressiveness, he could climb the ladder quickly.

A couple of observations. Interesting name for Down East (besides the Down East), Josh Advocate.
Our indyball pickup Ryan Fitzgerald is off to one hell of a start.
Salem into extras and the start a man at 2B BS
