What a relay from the Sox. Saved the game there.

Not pulling any punches on WEEI. When McCann’s hit went out, they said that the ball is juiced this year. Is anyone not saying the ball is juiced this year? Devers.

Vazquez again doesn't block the ball. Didn't matter, but we got a tie game now.

Is it crazy to think Castillo could be a CF option next year at a 10.3M AAV? JBJ will probably at least stay at 8-9ish. I don't think it is crazy, but it is certainly unlikely. If the Sox move cut bait on JBJ before 2020, they probably move Mookie to CF and pick up a RF on the open market for 7 or 8 mil. Castillo having a nice start at Pawtucket this year, but there isn't any reason to believe he is a 10.3M dollar player.

I have a lot of confidence that they'll win this game.
Mookie's OPS is up to .929.

Equilibrium being reestablished. Mookie over .300.

Equilibrium being reestablished. Mookie over .300. OBP up to .404 too. Not bad for a down year.

Workman has been literally almost unhittable this season.

I think Workman is all the way back from his surgery. Great weapon to have. He gets through an inning in the time it takes Price to throw 3 pitches.

Even if you don't buy Workman's .050 batting average against, he still has a 2.71 FIP. He's been really great.

Barnes in the 8th because he faces the heart of the order. I kind of like closer by committee if it gets our best pitcher to always pitch highest leverage.
For those who haven't noticed, Barnes is better than Kimbrel was in 2017 so far this year.

Workman has been literally almost unhittable this season. Here’s to pitching backwards. Damn, his statcast/%iles on savant are just ridiculous. 0/20 barrels? xBA/xSLG 0.122/0.186? Wow. Even his location on all three pitches is pretty good; I’m guessing those middle-middle CB and CU are stolen strikes he could maybe inch towards the edges more. But all the walks aren’t really a scary thing...he’s not wild by any means. Even the velo is creeping up a bit. Right now they have three excellent ‘pen arms another in Brasier who’s been lucky but looks to stay good. baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/brandon-workman-519443?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb

Barnes' curveball honestly looks like the nastiest pitch in baseball right now

Now Brasier gets a much easier Moncada/Rondon/Alonso 9th inning.

JDM's OBP is also over .400. Once it starts getting warm, I think he and Mookie will take off with the power.

I’d like to see him use the SF a little more, but he may just not have a ton of confidence in it. I just think if he were using like, 10-12% of the time, it’d be something the batter *has* to consider, rather than just a show-me. Idk if it’s a variation of the CH he used to throw, cuz the velo looks similar, and it’s a risky pitch if it’s flat or up, but he could catch a lot of guys seeing 4FB then swinging over it.
