Jackie Bradley will hit .325/.415/.600 in the second half, he'll work with the ghosts of Ted Williams and Tony Gwynn in the offseason, and he'll be talked about on the forums as an MVP candidate. "There's reason to think it's real this time!" they will yell. He will then hit .044/.041/.093 in April 2020. That thing I said above about Pedro Castellanos always playing the opposite of how I am feeling about him? At least we don't know how good Castellanos is! Jackie Bradley always ends up Jackie Bradley in the end, and people still overreact to his extremes.
Regardless, I agree that we see Duran this year, provided the team is in contention and he's healthy. It will be interesting to see what happens next year if that is the case.

I watched Duran's ABs.
1st inning vs RHP first pitch sharp line drive to center. About 5' to the right of second base. Fastball middle middle.
3rd inning vs RHP ball ball foul called strike ball foul linedrive out second base. It was a screamer right at the second baseman. Pitch would have been ball 4, it was very low so it was surprising that he hit it that hard.
5th inning vs RHP foul called strike ball foul ball swinging strikeout. low middle pitch, it was probably a strike anyways.
7th inning vs LHP sharp line drive to center field. About the same place as the first one. Fastball middle middle.
9th inning vs LHP foul ball foul swinging strikeout.
First inning stolen base he beat the throw to the bag. Again, you can't see the lead or jump but the pitcher threw to first several times. On the thrown out at 3rd base, the sharp grounder was in front of him, he shouldn't have tried to advance. It wasn't close.

With the K to end the game, that BABIP keeps creeping up! I love it, this Duran watch has become my favorite part of the season. Remember the Mookie meter ? We need a Jarren meter. Eric Longenhagen on fg in his chat today said he and Kiley McDaniel have discussed Duran as having good helium. I really wanna remember to get in one of their chats and hear their thoughts on the BABIP thing. Dude’s at .519. It blows my mind.

Bold prediction on Duran, given he’s only in high-A. I hope you’re right. Wouldn’t be surprised I guess if you are. Very interesting offseason subplot.
