They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

J.P. Crawford and Shed Long promoted to the Mariners in advance of this series. Not sure I have the math right, but it looks like they squeezed an extra year of service time out of Crawford. He finished 2018 at 1 year, 20 days.

He finished 2018 at 1 year, 20 days. That seems like odd management by the Phillies in light of the fact that he under-performed expectations so much.

Really easy/efficient inning for ERod. He actually got away with the first pitch to the second batter Domingo Santana. He threw it middle middle and didn’t get a swing. Time for a crooked number for the offense.

Yeah smooth start for Eduardo. Might go deep in this game if he keeps it up.

Eduardo has had two 3-2 counts out of the stretch position. Maybe he's not as comfortable out of the stretch. Hard to tell.

Signs of life from Jackie in the batters box. Nice little opposite field double.

Mitch Moreland I think is projected to hit over 35 homeruns at this pace. Wow,

Devers is going to be a monster at the plate once he finds a little more launch angle.

Not much to complain about. Just wait for Thornburg to come in I guess.

Xander's offensive profile has completely changed since Cora and the new coaching staff turned him away from being a slap hitter. Between Barnes and Xander, those have been the coaching staff's best development from a player's standpoint. This coaching staff has turned these guys into consistent great players.

We haven’t quite given Erod the Josh Beckett standard of 12 runs + air tight defense, but we have one more inning
