Went toe to toe with the best team in baseball, came up a little short. Gotta hit with RISP. Lets get em tomorrow.

Well, that game was a total waste.
Couldn't get a key hit other than Vazquez when they needed it.
Vazquez and Bogaerts looked great at the plate.
I think I might have been wrong about Vazquez. Perhaps Dombrowski DID make a good decision in that Vazquez should be the primary catcher. I'm not convinced that Swihart isn't a better backup option than Leon, but defensively Leon is a ton better and Swihart shouldn't be sitting on the bench at this point of his career anyways, but at least it's less painful when Vazquez plays like an all-star.
Porcello pitched well. Brasier still looks lost. Hembree was as good as he's looked.
Unfortunately it didn't matter because they couldn't hold a slim lead or generate runs for all the base traffic they had today, so it was a waste.
And I gotta say, I would have pinch-hit JBJ for Nunez, as lost as JBJ is.
JBJ DOES have a good history against Osuna. I remember at least 2 HRs he hit against Osuna. He hit one in the 9th inning a few years back when he was with Toronto and we all remember the grandslam.
I know JBJ doesn't resemble the guy he was in October, but he's always hit Osuna well and maybe facing him would help get him out of his funk.
I know one thing - he couldn't be any worse than Nunez who has been epicly useless.
It's hard because they have no functional bench right whatsoever now.
Holt is injured. Nunez has become a dysfunctional waste. They got rid of Swihart. Pearce is lost. The Red Sox are going to need to get bench production at some point. It can't keep going the way it has.

Gotta love Cora. Took responsibility by saying it was a mistake on his part for bringing Porcello back out in the 8th.

When Pedrioa and Holt are back. The sooner, the better.

Wow, JBJ didn't start and the Red Sox still only scored a single run? Crazy

Don't want to throw salt in the wound, but the Yankees won yesterday and are leaders in the division now. For some reason, Gio Urshella has 2 walk off hits already this year. This next 2 weeks will be a good test for the Sox. Face the Astros for 5 more games. In between you have Cleveland and New York. Tough stretch here.

Nearly everyone predicted he would survive spring training. If you note, almost all of the discussion and debate was over Fields. Who has been solid. Though, as I read this thread sarasoxer did comment on Pressly’s development.

Good thing we had Nunez in there, though.

We have now effectively traded Swihart and Shepherd for Taylor.

Fastball right down the middle to Springer. JBJ just missed the catch. Not ideal to be probably down one to nothing before your second out of the game.

Velazquez will be lucky if he makes it out of the first inning without giving up 4 runs. This already looks like a throwaway game.

Well, with bases loaded and no outs, I’d rather focus on asking why the Sox are wearing black hats. What’s that about?

2nd game in a row where Vazquez can't handle a throw from the outfield.
I mean, I know a lot of people think I'm making this stuff up about Vazquez' defense, but it's right there to see.
That should have been caught and a out, and a outfield assist for JBJ. It was right there.
He has a hard time blocking balls in the dirt and he has a even harder time catching balls from the outfield.

JBJ's throw hit CV in the glove on the fly. Even with a runner closing in on you, you gotta catch that.

This is why last night's game was crucial to winning this series. This is a throw away game tonight.
