Adonis Medina starting both games of the Portland double header is impressive 😂 I mean... he's an Adonis. And he pitched yeterday, too. Didn't seee pitching info for Trenton available yesterday when I was prepping for today, and then didn't realize that this morning. Fixed now.

Tough day for Charlie. He hits two home runs and gets demoted 3 levels. It's a paper move, but point stands.

Tough day for Charlie. He hits two home runs and gets demoted 3 levels. 28 home runs over his last two years in college. Not sure what kind of school Mercer is, or where he played at, but Madden hasn’t shown that kind of power so far in his professional career. For one reason or another, he hasn’t been able to earn solid playing time. Staying on the theme of catchers, Jhon Nunez has taken the absence of Austin Rei and has done pretty well. A triple and a home run today, bringing his average over .300 and OPS over .800. He’s athletic for a catcher but the two passed balls today show that his defense could still use some work.

I like that Feltman has had struggles in AA. We've seen on numerous occasions where a prospect has difficulty rebounding from adversity in the MLB when they haven't experienced it previously on a smaller stage.

The names Jhon Nunez and Austin Rei remind me of this. Don't suppose we have Bobson Dugnutt in the system, do we?

I like this walks and XBHs version of Duran tbh Nothing has changed in his approach, it's all just SSS and situational noise.

Watched parts of the game, some amateur observations:
Duran's double was down the left field line and he arrived at second standing up. The left fielder had to backhand the ball to keep it from reaching the wall and scoring Hardy.
His GIDP took an outstanding play from the second baseman. Two hopper up the middle which the second baseman got to on all fours then made an outstanding backhanded flip to the SS to start the DP.
Scortino with two outstanding throws to nail runners (one of which turned into little league stuff) and one of which was from his knees. On the other hand he seemed to have issues with Thompson's sinker. Both wild pitches that scored a run in the 4th should have been blocked with no advance.
I didn't watch all of Thompson's pitches, maybe 3/4 of them. I saw no sliders that looked remotely like the video. To me, his most impressive pitch is his sinker, not his slider.
He's tall and thin but you wouldn't call him "lanky". Comes over the top (or close, a touch towards the 3/4 side), repeats his delivery, doesn't take a long stride, hides the ball behind his head well and releases the ball higher than most. All three of his pitches have decent movement with the change having the least movement. He also generates a lot of swings and misses. Should be a keeper, nice find.

I saw Nunez in Hartford last year and he is athletic for a catcher and reminds me a little of Swihart. He made ramireja's fringe five Red Sox edition (thread currently on page 8) and I think deservedly so. Although there is nothing like a Rutschman in the system, with Alan Marrero showing signs of life in Greenville, the catching cupboard might not be totally bare.
