Granberg night and day (figuratively): April .219/.329/.266/.595 May .386/.470/.643/1.113 I thought he might be legit as a Sr sign; he obviously can hit and it sounds like he’s solid at 1b. Be real nice to see him get lots of PA and see if the hit tool’s real. His Sr year stats are laughable, .443/.541/.680/1.221 with more walks than whiffs? Plus 26/27 SB?! Sounds like a “baseball player” to me, skills>tools guy. If his May breakout is real, and he hits Salem in a month or so, with Duran doing what he has and Casas playing well in his first full season, gotta be very pleased with that draft. If they happen to stumble into some more luck with Howlett, Northcutt, Ward, and Feltman...wow. Early returns are def encouraging tho.

This was the first time in his career Dalbec has gone 0 for 4 without striking out.
I think we're seeing this year why cutting that K rate is so important for him - his quality of contact was never going to be as good climbing the ladder, so even as he's declined his numbers have stayed strong, just by virtue of having more singles fall in. If you do that, you can homer like once every 20 PA (which is where he's been) and still be an effective player.
