Putting Schellenger in Double-A after only 19 1/3 pro innings--and only 10 1/3 above the GCL--was probably overaggressive. Even the 10.4 K/9 isn't really much when you look closely - he's averaged nearly 7 batters per inning, so his strikeout rate is only 18.2%

Cosart is listed as available in the Sea Dogs gameday, so I believe he's coming up as the countermove for Schellenger.

Bump Dalbec to AAA, Duran to AA please..... Dalbec has not earned a promotion. He has basically been good for 20 games at this level. Duran is likely coming shortly though. Patience.

I thought Cosart looked pretty good when I saw him in April. Primary secondary was now a pretty good looking slider. That said, the rest of it was the same - hard, straight fastball he probably doesn't command well enough.

Feltman goes one inning, with one hit, and 2 Ks (both swinging). Announcer for MiLB TV only gave velocity one time and that was a 94 mph fastball.
Feltman now has thrown a scoreless appearance in 7 of his last 10 games. 12.1 innings, 11 Ks, but still 11 walks. Basically has had two atrocious appearances and one meh but the other seven have been pretty good. 9 of his 11 walks came over a three game stint. Small amount of progress, but still progress.

Only one walk in his last five appearances (7 1/3 innings). Hopefully shows he's moving in the right direction.

Would love for Feltman's velocity to get back to where it used to be.

Josh Smith pounded for the PawSox, probably rusty. No Holt/Pedroia but Marco seems to have settled right in.
Hart with another solid start but the noname Dogs lost 3-2. Jhon Nunez continues to have a solid season going for him.

LOL, I've got a middle of the night nature show going on. I've seen it before but not to the extent I'm seeing it tonight.
There are some kind of long winged flying insects that seem to periodically come in droves then disappear for several months. Tonight's the night which in turn has brought out the lizards. Among the lizards are our tuko lizards (cousins (or another name for) of geckos). I knew we had about 15 living in or around the house but they are shy and you usually see them one or two at a time. Tonight between the front and back outdoor lights I've seen 9.
Haha, there's a baby non tuko lizard that fell off the roof and has been living on my desk for about a week. He got one and it's bigger than he is. It was quite the fight but he won, now there's only wings left.
Back to baseball...
ADD: For obvious reasons, we pretty much have no mosquito or fly problem.

He’s hit for power in 2 seasons at AA but has now drastically lowered his K rate and his B.B. rate has risen....so bump him up and see if he can handle AAA pitching....I still think he’s a future middle of the order hitter on a first division MLB team

Robert Vernon Dalbec is sporting now his MiLB career best BB/K ratio. I'm excited!

Hatfield tweeted about it earlier, but Tyler Dearden has been activated from the IL. Playing left field and batting 7th tonight.

Top of the 1st inning: Jarren Duran doubles (13) on a ground ball to first baseman Nick Pratto. Minor Leagues baseball ladies and gentlemen lmao!

It was a sharp grounder (or maybe a line drive) right down the line. The first baseman deflected it to foul territory, easy double, nothing minor league about it.

Casas with his 7th HR. Towering pop fly that barely cleared the fence in left field.

Speed kills.
Duran walk, stole 2nd (the ball hit him but didn't go far away enough to advance to third), he then scored on a single to short RF by Fitzgerald. I didn't think he'd attempt to score but he scored standing up, my bad.

Sciortino with another caught stealing. Impressive arm/release. According to the announcer he's 17 for 34 attempts. This one saved a run.

Crawford out, Bazadrdo in. Crawford was struggling with command all day, rarely hit the catchers target.
