Mason Feole please. Definitely a buy low type of draft prospect after a spring injury and subsequent struggles, but overall he's been good for three years and has a shot at being a backend lefty starter. I figured he wouldn't last until Day 3 but he has.

If he wants to go back to school and show he's healthy they're not out anything. EDIT: Just doublechecked, he had forearm problems earlier in the spring but has been healthy since. Still, that delivery and "forearm trouble" means he's probably a risky bet. But from the 11th round on there's really no risk anyway.

Yeah he came back and was regaining form at the end of the year, but really like you said, this late there's not much risk and he wasn't someone you'd expect to get post 10th round coming into the year. Feole is a RI native & UConn kid too, so DOB would have that factoid to bring up every time he makes an appearance should he ever make it to the MLB.

This reminds me how they used to always call Bobby Witt "Canton's Bobby Witt", and how disappointed I was that Bobby Witt Jr. is not also from Canton so he won't be "Canton's Bobby Witt Jr."

They used to throw kind of hard, but not this hard!” for the last 4 innings of every game.

You're all set.

Oh sure. But "Canton's Bobby Witt, Jr., the son of Canton's Bobby Witt" just has that extra bit of provincialism that I need in my life.

You know what’s kind of annoying I feel like over the past few years the Red Sox have drafted pitchers who college or high school scouts say “oh he touches 97” then our soxprsopects staff sends someone out to watch them and they are sitting at 90-91...
Seems like the arms get sensationalized prior to the draft

I would love Feole today, but I think he's gotta be one of first few names off the board today.
Beyond the HS signability guys, there is some nice college talent I like that can build some system depth today. Here are some of my favs I've always sort of bookmarked during my readings:
Carter Bins -C Fresno St It is really surprising, he's prob an early name we see in round 11 Dan Hammer - RHP Pitt I saw pitch v well vs BC last yr, had a good Cape league, and his name would go perfectly w this draft class. Kenyon Yovan -RHP Oregon was a reliever on team USA collegiate team last summer Ryan Anderson -LHP Nevada is a 6'6 lefty with some deception, w a average change. Logan Boyer RHP SD State Reliever with limited innings, but good fastball and CB that can flash plus. Morgan McSweeney - Wake Forest Local kid (Hudson, I believe), another reliever that moved into the rotation this yr but control waivered. Parker Caracci - RHP Ole Miss Another RP on US team last summer, not a great year stats wise, and not over powering, but a name. Riley Orindo -RHP San Fransisco Starter, overall average profile but fits but he has what BA deems a plus plus splitter! Cameron Cannon -1B UC Riverside Really good power tool (possible 80 grade!), and would be awesome to have two Cannon's, plus he's hit 95 mph on the mound, so he actually does have a Cannon. Jackson Gillis -LHP Vandy another local kid (Wilmington I believe) , hasn't pitched much this yr but good FB from the left side, in HS had a really good CB. Adam Lasky -LHP Duke - Hada really good Cape last yr. Hasn't pitched much this spring, however. John McMillon -RHP Texas Tech, he's a two way guy with massive power and a massive fastball. Would be fun. Jeff Belge -LHP St Johns, Former Sox pick, I was certain he'd be a star, but he's very inconsistent. Gianluca Dalatri - RHP UNC Think he has a starter profile, nothing really plus, but a guy who will move throughout the system. Mason Cole - RHP Texas A&M Big fastball, but another injury guy this spring, and only a rSoph. Sean Mellen -LHP Northeastern - Another local kid (Norwood), good deception, had back surgery last yr, but has pitched this yr without issue. Tommy Jew -OF UC Santa Barbara - Plus speed, good defender, added some power this year. Trei Cruz - 2B Rice, played SS but likely a 2B, switch hitter, has some pop, Jose Jr's son, I have an affinity for swtich hitting MIFers.

I mean if they draft one top 200 guy today (and sign him) then I consider it a good day. Otherwise I'm excited to see what value they can churn up at this point. Really have to trust the area scouts. It's been a good draft thus far.

Absolutely love the pick. If they sign the top 11 picks then I don't really care what happens between rounds 12-40.

Dalatri had TJ in April, so he's going to be out until mid-2020 unfortunately. Belge is someone I'm rooting for. Went to the same high school in the city that my kids are lined up to, lives in the neighborhood north of us. He's a really, really, really big kid, and his control has gotten totally out of sorts. Seems like a very good Day 3 risk for a team to try to put him back together.

For the 2nd year in a row, we select one of the top ranked guys left in Round 11 despite not picking until the end. This pick makes this draft pretty special in my opinion when comparing the talent to our last ranked bonus pool.

Darn, I knew that about Dalatri too, it was in the original 2019 thread, just totally forgot. That's pretty cool about Belge, would love to see them try and get him right.
