Chris Wright from Bryant (Cumberland, RI) taken by the Giants (they must really trust their Northeast scout, a few picks over the years). Two way player, but a rSoph, I thought he'd lean towards going back to school.

Cellucci was rated the 25th best prospect from Louisiana by BA. He was Tulane's closer this past season.

For the 2nd year in a row, we select one of the top ranked guys left in Round 11 despite not picking until the end. This pick makes this draft pretty special in my opinion when comparing the talent to our last ranked bonus pool. In my opinion that should be the optimal strategy. Only 4 teams took a top 200 guy in the 11th round and 3 took one in the 12th. I figured that'd be the time you want to take your shot if you have it in the holster.

www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/sports/tulane/article_751dcc1a-5a46-11e9-9224-93163a6ed619.htmlPitching 12 1/3 innings in that stretch, he gave up six hits and one run, walked one and struck out 18, dominating opponents with a fastball that reaches 95 mph. Meet Tulane’s new closer. “He’s not trying to throw 95,” Jewett said. “It’s just easy. It’s relaxed. Everything’s kind of flowing, and it’s coming out more naturally than it is forced. I’m proud of him. He’s going to be a heck of a pitcher for a long time.” Cellucci is keeping hitters off balance with a curveball he finally can throw for strikes. He said he had seen pictures of himself not even looking at the plate on his delivery in the past, but hard work on mechanics with new pitching coach Daniel Latham has paid dividends.

MFY nab Anderson 2 picks prior, and Orioles 1 pick after nab Hammer. Division rivals stealing my guys!

Seems like a big arm that has constantly been having his delivery tweaked in college.

There have been far more pitchers drafted than I anticipated at this point in the draft

Not ranked anywhere, looks like he is a Wake Forest commit.

Loubier max fastball 73 ? I'd imagine thats a very dated report. Dude is listed at 6'5" and that kid is like 5'4".

Are people thinking the Sox know what they're doing (pool-wise) with Keane and maybe have a deal worked out since he is local? Seems like a talented guy given our draft pool and other picks. I just hope they can sign him.

I just hope they can sign him. I imagine since he was the 11th round pick (first pick of day 3) that they probably had an idea of what they had left and offered it to him. I figured it would be less likely that they would be able to sign him if they picked him in say, the 30th round than the 11th round. Then again I'm completely guessing.
