Either the Sox are planning on going over or aren't planning on signing a lot of these guys.

Wow, this a run of some decent HS talent...again, surprised by the HS pitching selections which they've veered away from in previous years.

Roberts from Baseball America:
A 6-foot-3, 215-pound righty who is committed to California, Roberts has big pure stuff, but he does it with an unconventional, max-effort delivery. Roberts gathers himself with a slow step back towards first base, while leaning his upper half over the rubber before implementing a high leg lift and exploding off the rubber with a high slot that also has plenty of length in the back. He has thrown a fastball in the low 90s and touched as high as 95-96 and flashed a solid, low 70s breaking ball, but his max-effort delivery and violent head whack will concern scouts and limit his control.

I kind of wonder if the plan is to just take a ton of HS kids that will sign for $125K even if they usually wouldn't be on the level?

I kind of wonder if the plan is to just take a ton of HS kids that will sign for $125K even if they usually wouldn't be on the level? This. I was wondering if this could be a way to acquire more talent. Maybe the guy's only a true $75k bonus guy (whatever that means) but offer them $125k maybe they go for it. Minimal cost. Some of those guys are likely to develop.

Anu ranks #277 on the PG list. Also is listed as the #14 prospect in Alabama on BA's list. Anu is committed to Kentucky.

I believe they need Anu's permission to draft him a second time. Another guy who isn't likely to be cheap.

The Sox drafted him in 2017, didn't sign and he went JUCO.... hit 390/428/665 in 54 games.... and then went undrafted last year, how?
