Kind of strange that there has been so little news re Red Sox signings compared to other teams. Not really. They wait and announce a bunch at once. This happens every year. Jonathan Mayo does a great job at reporting on signings on Twitter. They’re starting to come in quickly now. Mayo and Jim Callis split the league, announcing them when they come over the league wire. Callis is the one who reports Sox signings for the most part, FYI, not Mayo.

Roberts is joining Martorella on a collegiate prep summer team, so doesn't seem like a surprise there

A single Super Regional outing isn't going to change the fact he wasn't ranked by anyone and had pretty middling numbers this year, save for the K's. Might not get 5k, but he's not getting close to slot either.

A little hard to say, but he is a redshirt junior, so Sox may know that he plans to head to pro ball no matter what and that could factor into his bonus.

Yeah, have to assume the scout knows what he's looking to do.

Does that mean he isn't signing or is there still a chance?

Love the local product stories and he seems like a rough gem.

Looks like Cameron Cannon, Ryan Zeferjahn, Chris Murphy, Jaxx Groshans, Wil Dalton, Joe Davis, Alex Erro, and Luke Bandy could begin the season with Lowell. Season starts on Friday. Although sometimes the draft picks are still not cleared to play yet on Day 1. My guess is we start hearing about a wave of signings - maybe from a Red Sox press release - as early as this afternoon.

Gotta sign him. He’d be a big get for the 11th round. Reminds me of Logan Allen.

Lucky kid. Not sure I get the logic of this article. He has been dedicated to playing baseball and his dream is to play for the Sox at Fenway. So he gets drafted hy his dream team, his legacy team, his ancestral team, and turns it down for another year at college? I wonder how Dewey really feels?!?! Couldn’t an arrangement be made for him to finish college part time, with the Sox paying his tuition and fees? That would he a great business decision. Or wouldn’t his draft $$ do that and them some?

Not sure I get the logic of this article. When in doubt, put yourself in the mindset of your 21 year-old self, and try to remember the various things that drive you, like a hot girlfriend, or another year with your bros or the really interesting internship you just had that makes you want to take a new set of classes that you didn't ever consider before. Athletes are gods on college campuses. Not sure I'd be eager to give it up that easily either.

And if the Sox need someone to sign for $5,000 next year for cap manipulation, Berardino could be the guy.
