Definite trade candidate who's getting dealt this trade deadline that the Sox should be all over imo. This is the type of arm that Dombrowski typically targets. High ceiling power arm.
He has experience in the bullpen in his first two years in the big leagues. He could definitely help the Sox there big time this year. Sanchez has a unique skill of homerun suppression, which is valuable in today's game of juiced baseballs.
Also added bonus is that he has two more years of control after this season. He could step in and take Porcello's spot in the rotation next year.
My guess on a trade package would be something of a Dalbec and Houck combination I guess. Could give up less I suppose, but that's not a ton for a guy with a ceiling as high as Sanchez's. His stock shouldn't be as high as can be unless he pitches like a ACE for the next month.
The only downside of Sanchez is that he is a little bit of a wild thing on the mound at times. He spikes curveballs in the dirt and throws fastballs to the backstops on occasion. The other downside is that he has blister problems that pops up frequently. A lot like Josh Beckett did back in the day. In fact, a lot of his game reminds me a lot of Beckett. Same type of arm, the blister problems, the on and off years with both pitchers.
