I believe the DoD will change its policy once they see a Red Sox fan wants their draft pick to play baseball.

I believe the DoD will change its policy once they see a Red Sox fan wants their draft pick to play baseball. It's worth trying. They are a bunch of bums in office. The defense budget needs to be slashed immensely. Song is worth more to the Navy on a pitcher's mound. This is very easy to discern.

War is over, if you want Noah Song to pitch.

How many times does a forum moderator have to remind people on this message board to keep political discussion out of baseball threads? The site offers off-topic and throw down forums if you want to duke it out with someone who cares enough to have that discussion with you. Please stop.

War is over, if you want Noah Song to pitch. Say what you will about John Lennon's sometimes inconsistent politics and poor treatment of his family, there's no question he knew a good Song.

The defense budget needs to be slashed immensely. Make sure you mention that in the letter I did and I even sent them a secure email stating so. They will probably send me a paper letter in a few months, just wasting more resources.

You should copy/paste your email here. Give everyone an idea of exactly how efficient the paper pushers are at the government offices in nearly unfireable positions.. I have been trying for years to get a copy of my 2nd DD213 for years.. Not the one from discharge from active duty, but discharge when left the USNR several years afterward (active reserves). It would seem obvious when keep stating in requests in letters, as well as forms filled out that i want my final separation documents, lost many decades ago, but continue getting original papers each time. This is the clusterf*%&$ we deal with government run offices. Full of personnel, none with a clue.

Essentially Soc. Security taxed me and said they sent it to the IRS and the IRS was saying they didn't recieve it. I wrote to a Congressman in Nevada (I established residence in Nevada before I moved to the Philippines) and within 2 months I had a Social Security deposit to my account.

If you don't get anywhere, remember that you actually have 3 reps in Congress, 1 in the House and 2 in the Senate. Some of them have better and more responsive constituent services personnel than others, so start with the House rep and if that doesn't work move up the chain.

Just get on them and you will be able to get what you need. I just got out jury duty because I told them I will root for the con and don't believe in the justice system as it currently stands. It's pretty easy. Now, back to Noah Song.

Somehow it seems dirty to be sharing a Noah Song thread with a total piece of crap.

Lol at there still being no conclusion to this. Honestly. Can't complete the Mookie trade, don't know who the manager is, don't know the results/penalties from the sign stealing investigation.... c'mon, give us resolution on SOMETHING.

If nothing else, we can be assured that Bloom is going to drive us all crazy with his patience. I asked this once before about Song, but can't the Sox just pay his tuition and be done with all of this? Even if they can, I don’t think Song would go for it. Unless he can go through the proper channels to get a waiver, he is going to happily and proudly serve his country.

Right, this is the same thing as before.
The Academy reported to DoD that he does not fall under the new policy because it does not apply retroactively and he's already been commissioned. That got reported incorrectly as his waiver request getting rejected by multiple outlets at first. His request for a waiver is still pending on the desks of the Secretaries of the Navy and of Defense.
