if we don't come back in the 9th blame the offense. get a 2-run homer two batters in then just nothing as Minor pitches to the 9th inning. So much dead weight and useless depth on this team; when we want right handed hitters in our lineup we get to rely on futility like Travis, Nunez, and Leon tonight, for example.

I think Workman deserves a shot at this role that Barnes simply seems not fully cut out for.

So Barnes can throw 98, blows the high heat by people...and is throwing useless yakkers. And Leon is the magic for this staff?

Wow yet another implosion.
Sale has to be a frustrated pitcher.

You don't need a "closer", but Matt Barnes is your best reliever and he's a 7th at best.

What does it say about a game when Hembree - Heath Hembree - is being called on to keep it a close game...rescuing Matt Barnes?
It says that it is a pretty bad game. Sale deserves infinitely better than this. Once again the offense should be ashamed.

Barnes is not a closer due to inconsistent command, not stuff. His curve is devastating as a 2 strike ball. He is a very good 7-8 inning guy....not repetitive high pressure situations.
But all this is good. It shows where we need to improve on for next year.

Wow yet another implosion. Sale has to be a frustrated pitcher. The problem is obvious, Sale just doesn't know how to win.

Well this looks promising. Don't love pinch running Martinez though.

Xander clearly likes to make things as hard as possible...watch or miss the center cuts, and get the hit on the outside ball. No matter - whatever works! Raffi time.

Correction, Brock Holt. Really don't love that pinch running decision even more if they tie it up.

I don't know how you don't run for a gimpy baserunner in the bottom of the 9th when he's the tying run. Because it did nothing for the team replacing him with Chavis and now they're out their best hitter in a weak lineup.
