Baseball America recognizing we’re a better farm than some think Maybe. Or it's part and parcel a result of the graduation of blue chip prospects in other organizations around the league. Similar to what transpired when the Red Sox graduated and/or traded prospects in recent years (e.g. Devers, Moncada, Kopech etc.)

Similar to what transpired when the Red Sox graduated and/or traded prospects in recent years (e.g. Devers, Moncada, Kopech etc.) That's partially true, but the Sox also graduated their top prospect.

By the end of next season, Lugo could be our top ranked prospect. Love his swing and once he gets a game plan at the plate, he is going to put up some serious numbers.

MLB has done its midsession update on their top 100 and top 30 lists for each club. m.mlb.com/prospects/2019For the Sox top 30, the 21-30 ranked prospects are all pitchers.

How come Daniel McGrath isn't highly ranked? He is killing it now. If I remember right he didn't have much power. Fastball was sub 90mph. Is it still the same scenario?

From BA hot sheet: www.baseballamerica.com/stories/top-mlb-prospects-hot-sheet-9319/4. Bryan Mata, RHP, Red Sox Team: Double-A Portland (Eastern) Age: 20 Why He’s Here: 2-0, 1.38, 13 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 8 BB, 11 SO The Scoop: Mata allowed his only two runs of the week in his first start again Binghamton, and he followed that up with seven scoreless frames against New Hampshire. While his walks are concerning, Mata pitched with confidence. He attacked hitters with his fastball while working to his secondary offerings to draw some swings and misses along the way. (JC)

I’m curious about why Zeferjahn (sic?) has a 5 ceiling in the ratings. His write-up sounds impressive, and his arsenal already sounds at least functional as a starter. Plus fastball, close to plus change, a few other meh secondaries... that’s pretty good with development to come.

SoxProspects.com @soxprospects · In addition to naming OF Jarren Duran A+ POTY, BA named RP Trevor Kelley (AAA), Duran (A+), OF Gilberto Jimenez (SS-A), SP Jorge Rodriguez (Rk) to its classification All-Star teams.

Yeah, I read this as well and had a similar thought about its overall validity.

Yeah, I read this as well and had a similar thought about its overall validity. You might agree or not agree with the order but there's pretty much no questioning the research, particularly impressive was his knowledge of the DSL players.
