I believe Bauer may be the most interesting starting pitcher to be traded. What should the Red Sox be willing to give up to get him? How much pain? One top 5 player, another 5-15 player and a couple lottery picks. What would you gice up?

I like Bauer, but he says he will not sign an extension, and wants to go to Free Agency where he claims he will only play on 1-year contracts. So it will def be a short-term acquisition. But this team wouldn't give Gio Gonalez $2M in April, why would they give Bauer more than that for the last half of the year?

Indians are still in the playoff picture, but I think they ask for Casas, one of Dalbec, Duran, and Mata. and then two others still maybe a B prospect like Groome and a lotto pick.

Groome is not a B prospect. He’s an A prospect once he gets healthy. That’s a really massive amount of prospects to give up.

Perhaps but he has yet to show he can be successful even in the minors yet. Hard to brand him an A prospect until he dominates for a little while. He certainly has or had the talent...but at the moment, he's more of a gamble that a likely sure thing like you'd expect an A grade prospect to be.

Bauer is the best pitcher in the trade market, you're not going to get him for 17 quad A players. It's going to take one top 100 prospect (Casas), one guy who could be in the top 100 at the end of the season Dalbec, Duran, or Mata), and guys who they can dream on... Groome and someone else.

Groome is not an add-on piece. You don’t give up on a guy of his talent, especially when he’s only 20 (about to be 21).

I don't know that Groome ever turns into what we hope but I wouldn't give him up to rent Bauer. If Bauer had another year or two of service time I'd give up Groome, but not as a rental.

Why would the Indians give up a starting pitcher to a team they're directly competing with the second wild card with?

Just my two cents: I don't want Bauer for personality reasons.
I love watching him pitch. I think he's great for the game of baseball. If this were a video game, I'd try to swing a deal for him, but in real life, you need your 25-man roster to get along to some degree, and for all his talent, I think Trevor Bauer would actually do damage to team chemistry. He has a huge ego and an even bigger mouth. He's talked trash about Chris Sale on record. He thinks he's smarter than his team's analytics department and picks fights with strangers on Twitter for fun. Do your really wanna bring this guy into the clubhouse, in the same market that's making headlines out of a two-year-old shouting match between David Price and Dennis Eckersley?
Honest to God, I hope he gets traded to the Yankees. Send Clint Frazier back to Cleveland, and make Cashman include that kid who started the Futures Game.
